Alga district is a second-level administrative-territorial unit in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan, located in the north of the region
It was formed in 1933 as the Key District. In 1963 it was renamed into Alga region. The administrative center of the district is the city of Alga. The district is located in the north of the region. It borders on Khromtau, Mugalzharsky, Temir, Khobdinsky and Martuk districts, as well as the territory of the Aktobe city administration. Alga region consists of 12 rural districts, which include 30 villages, and one city of regional significance. The population of the district totals 43,794 people (as of July 01, 2024)
The mission of the state institution «Apparatus of akim of the Alga region» is to ensure high-quality and timely information-analytical, organizational, legal and material-technical functioning of the activities of the akim and akimat of the region
