The regional center - Konaev city.
The territory of the region is -10.5 million hectares.
The Almaty region includes: Balkhash, Enbekshykazakh, Zhambyl, Ily, Kegen, Karasay, Raiymbek, Talgar, Uygur districts and city Alatau.
