On August 25 of this year, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture N. Kenenbayev held a meeting on the issue "On seed production of certified farms" with the participation of the head and researchers of the limited Liability Partnership "Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Crop Production", certified business entities that have been issued certificates for the production of agricultural seeds.
During the meeting , the head of the Institute Sh . Bastaubayeva, research associates A. Omarova, M. Kudaibergenov, heads of farms T. Zhaparkul, A. Karipzhanov, S. Kasenov, A. Zholdasov.
Following the meeting, a unanimous decision was made to analyze the opinions expressed and send a letter of recommendation to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Tekeli gormolzavod with almost 70-year history of development has launched the production of salted ayran in cups and kurt according to traditional recipes. Now the company produces about 10 types of dairy products, including butter, cottage cheese, sour cream, kefir and milk of various fat content. We have started experimental production of Suluguni cheese, and we plan to produce ice cream. The processing capacity is 18 tons of milk per day, – the press service of the akim of the Zhetisu region reports.
According to the director of the enterprise Denis De, in the summer the plant processes up to 13 tons of milk per day, in winter – about 7 tons. The raw materials are delivered to the plant by large farms "Khilnichenko", "Raimanov" and "SEC", which bring from 2 to 3.5 tons of milk per day. Milk is also purchased in private farmsteads, there are about 100 of them. Milk is accepted from 160 to 213 tenge, depending on the quality. The most important point is that first of all all milk is tested in a special laboratory, passes 3 purification filters, only suitable milk is sent for normalization and pasteurization.
The finished products are mainly sold in the cities of Tekeli, Taldykorgan and Almaty, as well as partially in the village of Karabulak of Eskeldinsky district and the village of Balpyk bi of Koksu district. For example, if last year 3 tons of products of the Tekeli gormol plant were sold in Almaty for a month, then this year 5 tons have already been sold for the same period.
As you know, the company traces its history back to 1953. Since then, it has never stopped, even in the transitional 90s. One of his permanent employees, a technologist with 30 years of experience Valentina Kurbak recalls: "I started working at the plant in 1990. I started with a master. Since that time, it has been possible not only to preserve the enterprise, but also to expand production volumes, as well as to modernize the dairy plant thanks to state support."
In 2015, the company received a preferential loan under the "Damu" line under the state program "Ondiris-2" in the amount of 171 million tenge. Modern equipment was purchased with these funds. The loan received was fully repaid last year.
- Now we receive subsidies for butter, since since Soviet times the production of butter was considered unprofitable due to the costs of it. See for yourself. 25 liters of milk are required for each kilogram of butter. Now the production of 1 kilogram costs us about 5,300 tenge. This is without taking into account the costs of electricity and transportation. And we sell the finished oil for 4 thousand per kilo at the expense of state support. Of course it's not cheap, but we are responsible for the quality of our products. In fact, we have not changed the technology, we follow all state standards. Our butter is a real butter, you can say made according to my grandmother's recipe without any artificial additives and other things. Unfortunately, butter is sold in the markets of Taldykorgan, which is issued for ours, its cost varies from 1600 to 2000 tenge. When we ask the sellers why you assign our name, they answer that if you say that the oil of the Tekeli gormolzavod, they immediately buy it. But because of this, we not only suffer losses, but also lose our image, which has been earned for decades, because the Tekeli brand has gained trust among our customers thanks to a lot of work," D. De shares.
The choice fell on traditional recipes and when launching the production of kurt and salted ayran.
- Last year we started thinking that it was time to expand our product range. After conducting an analysis, we found out that the population loves salty ayran the most. To do this, we did not have to buy additional equipment, the only question was with the choice of recipe. We tried different types. It took about 3 months. The choice fell on a taste closer to home. The cost of new products is 90 tenge. We also launched the production of Kurt. We invited a local resident to the enterprise, who demonstrated the entire process of producing a homemade kurt. Now we have not adjusted such a large volume yet, we have experimentally launched it. As they say, not much, but delicious. While we are selling products to stores in plastic containers of 30 pieces of kurt in each. The cost is 1000 tenge. By the way, I specify factory prices. Our kurt has a creamy taste and yellow color," the plant director continued.
In recent years, the company has been paying great attention to the packaging of finished products. The design was developed by a youth company from Almaty. An interesting fact is that before starting work, the guys came to Tekeli to personally assess the quality of the company's products. A positive assessment was the sincere approach to design development. As a result, the plant received a bright package of yellow, green, blue and red, decorated with a print in the form of milk drops and a font similar to the tops of the Tekeli mountains. By the way, all employees of the company participated in the selection of the final packaging design by open voting. Posters with stickers "for" and "against" still hang on the wall in the director's office. He notes that this is a memorable moment in the history of the company.
By the way, the company buys finpack and plastic cups in Russia, the prices of which have increased 2-2.5 times. Transportation costs have also increased. Therefore, in order to further expand the production of socially significant goods, the company urgently needs state support.
It is important to note that today the company employs 50 people, the average salary is 90 thousand tenge, free breakfasts and lunches are provided.
- Our products are characterized by environmental friendliness and quality. On the packaging of milk, we indicate a shelf life of 5 days, kefir – 7 days. We still use real kefir mushrooms. Today, almost 90% of the population of Tekeli buys our products, about 99% – our butter. The traditions of taste are especially important to me. Therefore, I try my best to keep them. It's no secret to anyone that what is made by hands is always tastier than what is made by a machine, because it is made with a soul. Of course, we comply with all the requirements of sanitary standards, everything is done with gloves and so on. But in everything we follow the recipes of our ancestors, which are the main secret of the popularity and durability of the Tekeli Gormolzavod, which, for a second, has been continuously working for 69 years," the young entrepreneur sums up.
One of the successful enterprises engaged in the production of honey is TekTai LLP, located in the Eskeldinsky district, with a capacity of more than 100 tons of products per year. Throughout the warm season, bees extract honey in the meadows of the Dzungarian Alatau at an altitude of 1,425 meters above sea level, where 7 of the company's own apiaries with 300 bee colonies are located, and honey is also purchased from local beekeepers. The quality and naturalness of honey is controlled in a special laboratory. The products are sold on the domestic market, as well as exported to Russia, China and the UAE, - the press service of the akim of the Zhetisu region reports.
As the director Ruslan Kutlukov notes, the main task of the enterprise is the production of a high–quality natural product, it is not for nothing that the company's motto sounds like this: "TekTai" is the very honey that should be in every home."
- The quality and naturalness of honey is controlled at all stages of production, at each stage we monitor strict compliance with standards so that at the end our customers receive real alpine flower honey. For this purpose, our special laboratory works, in which studies are conducted to identify substances that affect the reduction of vitamins and beneficial properties. We also create the best possible living conditions for bees," says R. Kutlukov.
TekTai LLP produces 4 types of honey: mountain, forest, field, Altai mountain. Special attention is paid to the packaging of honey. For example, mountain honey is packaged in wooden lime barrels, treated with wax from the inside, as well as in small plastic sticks. Also, all types of honey are packaged in glass jars, but honey combs are packed in wooden boxes. All products are certified, and in such branded packaging honey becomes a pleasant useful gift.
- You can learn a lot from bees. They not only give us one of the most useful and natural products, but also teach us hard work, patience, and the ability to work in a team. Of course, caring for bees is a laborious process. But nothing can compare with the complexity of the honey production process by bees. I'll give you a few numbers for example. When a bee collects the nectar of flowers, it stores it in a honey crop, in which it brings the nectar to the hive. The capacity of the goiter is about 70 milligrams, but to fill it, the bee needs to fly from 1000 to 1500 flowers. The work of the bee does not end there. The processed bee nectar is laid out in a honeycomb, which is then transferred from the honeycomb to the honeycomb until the moisture from it completely evaporates. It takes 8-10 days. During this time, unripe honey is formed. To speed up evaporation, bees blow the substance with flaps of their wings. Therefore, when you approach the hive, you hear a buzz. This is how bees work on honey. When the syrup in the honeycomb reaches the desired consistency, it turns into honey. The cells with honey are sealed with wax, and the honey ripens. Just imagine, in order to produce one kilogram of honey, a bee family must fly around about 10 million flowers. Of course, a kilogram of honey is collected by many bees. But one bee has a lot to do: a working bee visits an average of 5-7 thousand flowers a day," says the beekeeper.
Talking about the peculiarities of beekeeping Ruslan Kutlukov shared another interesting fact about bees:
- It is interesting to show where many flowers with nectar are placed, the bee dances, thus inviting other bees to help. The speed and movements of the dance indicate the distance and direction to the honey-bearing area. As of today, 300 beehives with bee colonies have been placed in our apiaries. Our team has been producing honey since 2015, and the company itself has been operating since 2018. During this time, we have managed to gain a lot of experience and high competence. To date, our honey has taken its place in the export market and is loved not only by our compatriots, but also by residents of China and the UAE.
By the way, the company "TekTai" LLP is located in the village of Syrymbet of the Eskeldinsky district, where there is a honey packing shop and a thermal chamber for honey crystallization, storage facilities and an office are also located. In total, the company employs 10 people. You can buy honey from the company "TekTai" without leaving home, because the company has its own online store on the website https://tektau.kz /. A delivery service has also been established, for example, honey is delivered in Taldykorgan within 2 days, Almaty - 3 days, and in the regions of the country – from 4 to 7 days. The cost of delivery is from 1000 to 3000 tenge, respectively.
I must say that last year about 280 tons of honey were produced in the Zhetisu region, state support was carried out at the expense of the local budget.
This year, the Zhetisu region plans to harvest over 480 tons of berries, of which about half are strawberries and strawberries. The farmers of the Eskeldinsky district will also contribute to the total share. The Lazarenko family has been developing its agricultural business for about 10 years, growing strawberries, raspberries and gardening. Today, the spouses receive about 700-800 kg of strawberries a day and 100-150 kg of raspberries every two days, - the press service of the akim of the Zhetisu region reports.
According to Lyubov Lazarenko, her husband and his brother were instilled in her interest in working on the land by their father Pyotr Andreevich. He worked almost all his life on a local collective farm, and after that he received shares and continued to grow fruits and vegetables. After his sons expanded the business, they got their own families, and now their spouses help them. Since that moment, there is not a single free space on the site, we have learned a lot thanks to the possibilities of the Internet. Everything is occupied either by berries or fruit trees. Most of the plot, of course, is occupied by strawberries and raspberries. A woman's hand is visible everywhere. Flowerbeds are laid out in vacant places, colorful petunias and other summer flowers are blooming. Men's practicality coexists with women's desire for beauty and comfort, this is the harmony of the family business.
- We mainly grow strawberries and raspberries. The berries are very healthy and delicious, but also capricious. Therefore, it takes a lot of effort to make them grow, - says L. Lazarenko.
So at the time of visiting the farm, employees do not sit idle. The harvest was prevented by rain, so the preparation of planting material is in full swing. Then in a month, when it takes root, the finished strawberry seedlings will be planted in the open ground and covered with plastic wrap.
- At this stage, strawberries occupy 2 hectares of land. We grow the dessert variety "Albion". The berries are juicy, fragrant, strong. The variety does not cause any special problems when growing, but in extreme heat, the size of the berries decreases. Therefore, this year's harvest is average, and the low-snow winter also had its effect. But in general, the variety is very good. It bears fruit from the beginning of May until the first autumn frosts. The most important thing is excellent taste, good yield, excellent shelf life and portability, while the berries are beautiful, bright, oval or heart–shaped, Lyubov shares his experience.
The family also has no problems with sales. Wholesale buyers mostly come from Taldykorgan. But you can also see strawberries from the fields of the Lazarenko family on the tables of metropolitan residents, a lot of products are sold in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semipalatinsk and other cities of the country. The high transportability of the cultivated variety gives its advantages. Lazarenko and retail customers are not denied. Anyone can buy fragrant strawberries in the right amount, and often they will collect it with you directly from the garden.
This year the apple orchard pleases with its yield. From the abundance of fruits, the plum branches also bent. Stalin also began to sing. The total area of the KX land plot is about 20 hectares. As Lyubov Lazarenko notes, the introduction of a drip irrigation system was a good help for them.
By the way, while farmers have not been provided with state support for business development, but in the case of such, the family dreams of doing processing. In particular, the production of jams and pastilles.
But, no matter how difficult the life of a rural entrepreneur is, Nikolai and Lyubov say that they like it, and they have a desire to try to grow other types of berries. Speaking about future plans, Lyubov jokes: "If you are tired of raspberries, then switch to raspberries every day. The benefits are the same, but the taste is different." Now the farm plans to pay special attention to this berry created by breeders, further expanding the planting area. The first few bushes have taken root, have already begun to bear fruit, and now they will be worked with. Lazarenko hopes that this delicious berry will also be in demand.
There is another important point in this matter: berry plantations give work to local residents – at different times of the year, different numbers of people work here, now 10 people are employed, who are provided with free lunch, morning and evening delivery. "Besides, picking strawberries is quite a pleasant activity," sums up Lyubov, who, together with her husband and his brother's family, participates in all processes, because this is the only way, together and thanks to daily hard work, this difficult berry business of the Lazarenko family is progressing.
This year, the expected gross harvest of apples in the Zhetisu region is about 23 thousand tons. In general, the area of orchards exceeds 5200 hectares, including apple trees – about 3700 hectares. Only in one peasant farm of the Eskeldinsky district more than 15 different species are grown, most of which are domestic. There are among them the world-famous "Almaty aport", and "Senap Almaty, "Ruby", "Aidaret", "Rashida", "Golden Excellent", "Zarya Alatau" and many others, - the press service of the akim of the region Zhetisu reports.
Vladimir Savchenko started apple gardening about 30 years ago. Having separated from the collective farm in the 90s, he received a small abandoned garden on a hill as a share. A season of hard work and the old garden responded with gratitude. The domestic variety "Saltanat", distinguished as if by colored variegated apples, can be said to have become the first symbol of success. Vladimir Alekseevich studied everything independently, by trial and error, participating in various seminars, talking with other gardeners, reading special literature. Today, the area of his gardens located in the village of Terekty has reached 38 hectares. In general, 100-120 tons of apples are sold during the season.
"There would be a wish. Everything can be achieved. Plus patience and hard work, then everything will work out. Moreover, the natural and climatic conditions in our region favor the development of horticulture, the cultivation of apples. 900-1200 meters above sea level – ideal conditions. Our water flows by gravity through a laid channel and pipes from a mountain river. We also use drip irrigation. Only you need to be ready to work. Novice gardeners need to understand that it will not be easy at first. Especially the first three or four years, intensive care is needed. During this period, we received subsidies from the state. It helped. And you get a return in at least five years," he notes.
Most of all, Vladimir Alekseevich is proud that the fruits he grows are environmentally friendly: "We treat gardens in a gentle mode only 2 times a year. From scab and fruitworm. And at one of the seminars we were told that it is necessary to process up to 15 times a year! So this is at least 1 cm from the apple you need to cut and throw away. And what about the fact that there are countless vitamins in the apple peel itself. So I keep an eye on it all the time. Know that if the apple has darkened quickly at the site of the cut, it means it is good, and the vitamins are all in place," says the gardener.
Now the father's business is continued by Vladimir Alekseevich's sons, who have already created their own families. Grandchildren also do not leave the family business without attention. Moreover, as in the whole world, apples are still harvested by hand. 5 people work on a permanent basis. During the season, the number of employees grows to 20. All local villagers.
Approximately 20% of the harvest of the farm "Savchenko" is exported to Russia, the rest is sold in bulk to Taldykorgan and in the cities of the country. Winter varieties are mainly grown in Vladimir Alekseevich's gardens. All of them are well preserved until the next harvest. There is also a fruit storage for 75 tons, equipped with an Italian-made refrigeration unit. Storage temperature from 0 to +2 degrees:
- In the storage, apples retain their taste qualities until May-June, that is, almost until the new harvest.
Vladimir Alekseevich is also engaged in the cultivation of cereals, as well as strawberries.
At this stage, strawberries occupy 3 hectares. A drip irrigation system has been installed in the fields. The Dutch variety "Albion" and the Turkish variety "Cesena" are grown.
- This year we have sold 10 tons of strawberries. The snowless winter has had its effect. Now the harvest has been fully harvested, we continue watering, weeding has been carried out, we are preparing for the next season," the gardener notes.
In general, today in the Eskeldinsky district, the area of gardens occupies 600 hectares, of which apple trees – 500 hectares. More than 60 farms specialize in horticulture, about 2 thousand tons of harvest are expected in the district, and about 23 thousand tons of apples are expected in the region. This is how the apple history of Zhetisu continues, it is not for nothing that the fertile land is the birthplace of all apples, and the mother of all apple trees, the Sivers apple tree, still grows here, which means, and it is quite possible that dinosaurs admired the blooming apple orchards of Zhetisu, then tasting ripe and juicy fruits.
In the Zhetisu region, the acreage of sugar beet is planned to increase to 15 thousand hectares by 2026. In particular, in 2023 – up to 8.1 thousand hectares, in 2024 – up to 10.7 thousand hectares, in 2025 – up to 12.2 thousand hectares. This year, this type of crop is sown in the region on 6.2 thousand hectares. It is planned to collect 210 thousand tons and produce 20 thousand tons of beet sugar, - the press service of the akim of the region Zhetisu reports.
According to the regional Department of Agriculture, over the past 7 years, the acreage of sugar beet has increased 7.4 times (from 1.2 thousand hectares in 2014 to 8.9 thousand hectares in 2021), and the volume of products sold for processing – 19.8 times (from 9.9 to 196 thousand tons).
The production of white sugar in the region continues to be carried out by the Koksu and Aksu sugar factories. This year, 30 thousand tenge will be paid to farmers for 1 ton of sold products (from the plant – 15 thousand tenge, at the expense of subsidies – 15 thousand tenge), which is 8 thousand tenge more than in 2021.
At the same time, since last year, the Koksu Sugar Factory has been engaged in the production of cane sugar. In 2021, 41 thousand tons of raw materials were processed, 40 thousand tons of cane sugar were produced. This year, a quota of 48 thousand tons was received, 29.4 thousand tons of cane raw materials have been processed to date, the volume of sugar produced is 28.5 thousand tons. By November of this year, it is planned to install and put into operation a reed processing line at the Aksu plant. Thus, both plants will operate year-round, processing both beet and cane raw materials.
At the same time, according to the regional department of agriculture, in 2023 it is planned to increase the acreage of sugar beet in the Aksu (1200 ha), Alakol (500 ha), Sarkan (1200 ha) districts and sell 100.0 thousand tons of raw materials for processing at the Aksu sugar factory. In general, by 2026, the acreage of sugar beet is planned to increase to 15 thousand hectares.
In addition, there are plans to launch a third sugar factory located in the Alakolsky district. Akim of the region Beibit Issabayev addressed representatives of three international financial institutions with a proposal for his rehabilitation during a meeting held the other day.
It should be noted that in order to stabilize sugar prices, a memorandum was signed between the Socio-Entrepreneurial Corporation, the Koksu Sugar Factory and the Magnum, Small, and Toymart retail chains on the shipment of 2 thousand tons of sugar at a price of 450 tenge per kilogram. Also, a contract for 1,500 tons was signed with the Aksu Sugar Factory under the reverse scheme.
Work is also underway in the region to develop seed production.
Currently, there are 12 certified seed producers in the Zhetisu region, which produce 1.4 thousand tons of corn seeds for grain, 10.5 thousand tons of grain ear seeds and 2.5 thousand units of sugar beet sowing. Next year, potato seed production will be launched in the Kerbulak district on the basis of the company "FROM "Agroholding". First, 60 hectares will be developed, it is planned to produce 1.8 thousand tons of seeds, which will cover 30% of the available demand.
It is worth noting that the volume of potato and vegetable production covers the needs of the region's population by 100%. However, there are problems with storage and distribution in the off-season. Thus, the capacity of the existing potato storages is 7.5 thousand tons, and vegetable storages – only 5.5 thousand tons. To solve these issues, it is necessary to build additional warehouses in the cities of Usharal, Zharkent, Taldykorgan.
The issue of providing modern agricultural machinery is also relevant. 20.3 thousand units of agricultural machinery have been registered in the region, 65% of which have been in operation for more than 10 years. The average renewal rate is about 4% per year. In this regard, according to the plan approved by the Ministry of Agriculture, it is necessary to purchase 468 units of new equipment. To date, 375 units of equipment and trailers have been delivered in the amount of 3.9 billion tenge, the plan has been fulfilled by 80%. 198 tractors, 177 trailers worth about 1 billion tenge were purchased.
As for the provision of mineral fertilizers, their demand is about 31 thousand tons. This year, their prices have increased by an average of 1.7 times compared to last year. To reduce the cost of mineral fertilizers, 1.5 billion tenge of subsidies are provided from the budget, 1.0 billion tenge was paid for 12.1 thousand tons.
In general, according to the results of the first half of the year, an increase of 1.8% was achieved in agriculture, 3.2% in trade, 91 billion tenge of investments were attracted to the economy of the region with an increase of 19.8%.
