Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The Ministry is a central government body of the Republic of Kazakhstan responsible for the development and implementation of state policy in the following areas:

industry development; promotion of local value creation; the mining and metallurgical sector; mechanical engineering; the coal, chemical, light (excluding the processing of hides and wool of farm animals), woodworking and furniture industries; the construction industry and building materials production; safety of machinery and equipment; safety of chemical products in accordance with sectoral regulations; control of specific goods; energy conservation and energy efficiency; production and circulation of precious metals and gemstones; raw materials containing precious metals; manufacture of jewelry and related products; establishment, operation and dissolution of special economic zones; public administration of subsoil use in respect of solid minerals (excluding uranium mining); state geological exploration and development of the mineral resource base; architecture, urban planning and construction; housing policy; public utilities; water supply and wastewater services within populated areas; heat and electric power sectors with regard to energy consumption; shared-equity housing construction; and the defense industry.
