Oiylsky district is one of the remote districts in the West of the Aktobe region.
The district borders with Kobdinsky, Temirsky and Baiganinsky districts of Aktobe region.
The district's 22 localities are grouped into 7 rural districts. The center is the village of UIL. The lands of the UIL district are mainly located on the erosion-denudation plain. The wil river runs from East to West of the district. It has such branches as Ashyoil, Shagyrly, Kaindy, Botabai, Kiyl, Kenjaly, Kyrdakty etc. There are several small lakes (Kamyskol, Sorkol, etc.). In the valley of river Barkin, Sarytobe etc. meet sandy valley.
The population as of 01.01.2020 is 18,672 people (2.3% of the region's population), including an economically active population of 9.0 thousand people. National structure of the population: Kazakhs-18,357 people (98.3%), Russians – 187 people (0.9%), representatives of other nationalities – 132 people (0.7%).The district center is the village of UIL, located 260 km from the city of Aktobe. The population of the district center as of 01.01.2020 is 6,980 people.
