Let's find out what types of pension payments are available in Kazakhstan today and how to calculate them.
To begin with, we note that the pension of the people of Kazakhstan consists of three parts:
Kazakhstanis who retired before the introduction of mandatory pension contributions receive basic and contributory pensions.
The amount of your pension will depend on your length of service and the amount of mandatory pension savings.
With the transition to the funded pension system, each employer is obliged to make a regular transfer of mandatory pension contributions (MPC) in the amount of 10% of the monthly income of the employee.
To find out how many pension savings you have, you can get 2 certificates.
You can receive savings from the UAPF :
Pension payments from the UAPF are made monthly according to the schedule (by adding up the annual amount of pension payments and dividing them into 12 months) in accordance with the Methodology for calculating the amount of pension payments, and the calculated amount of monthly pension payments from the UAPF should not be less than 54% of the subsistence minimum. The subsistence minimum in 2025 is 46 228 tenge.
Only those with a total pension savings of less than 753 252 tenge in 2025 (12 times the minimum pension) will be able to receive a pension payment from the UAPF, withdrawing the entire amount at once.
In order to make pension payments from the Pension Fund, basic pension and retirement payments on the principle of "one window", you need to go to the nearest branch of the NJSC GC Government for Citizens (CSC) and submit an application.
You must have the following documents with you:
- to confirm the care of a non-working mother for young children, one of the following documents is submitted (depending on their availability):

Among other things, by submitting an application, you are entitled to receive a state guarantee (if possible), i.e. the difference between the amount of actually paid mandatory pension contributions, mandatory professional pension contributions taking into account the level of inflation and the amount of pension savings. More information about this payment can be found in the separate material.
Pension provision in the Republic of Kazakhstan is carried out by the Social Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 20, 2023.
The retirement age is 63 years for men and 61 years for women.
From 2023 to 2028, the "retirement" age of women will not change and will be 61 years. The maximum retirement age is 63 years, will be effective from 2031.
Let's calculate the age at which women in Kazakhstan can retire:
The easiest way to calculate your retirement date is to use a pension calculator.
Women who have given birth (adopted) 5 or more children and raised them up to the age of eight have the right to age pension payments upon reaching 53 years.
UAPF depositors who have issued a pension annuity can retire 8 years earlier.
To do this, a person has the right to conclude an agreement with an insurance company providing such a service. After that, the pension fund transfers part of the savings of this depositor to the company, and it pays the pension insurance payment to the client for life.
In order to conclude a contract with an insurance company and receive insurance payments ahead of time, you need to accumulate a sufficient amount of money, which varies depending on the gender and age of the depositor.
From 2023, men aged 55 can purchase an annuity, and women aged 53. For example, among the agreements with an insurance company there may be a clause according to which, after the death of a pensioner, pension insurance payments are still received by his heirs for some time. Persons who have been working in harmful production for at least 5 years can also conclude a pension annuity agreement.
The age for men and women is 50 years. That is, the employer had to deduct mandatory professional pension contributions for them for at least 5 years. At the same time, the younger the applicant for early retirement, the more the amount accumulated in the UAPF should be.
More details on this procedure can be found on the UAPF website.
