What to do if you are faced with corruption offenses?

In this article, we will talk about ways to contact the Anti-Corruption Service, as well as about the protection of persons who have reported corruption facts.

What should be done when faced with corruption offenses?

If you have become aware of the facts of crimes committed or being prepared by government officials, you can submit an appeal.:

- in writing to the Anti-Corruption Service at the address: Astana, Kabanbai Batyr Ave., 19 block "B" and the territorial divisions of the National Security Committee at the place where the corruption offense was committed;

- through the e-Government portal through the eOtinish service in the presence of an electronic digital signature;

- by contacting the Anti-Corruption Service's call center at 1424 (toll-free).  

Confidentiality is guaranteed. All appeals will be reviewed, and in case of violations of the law, measures will be taken in accordance with current legislation. 

According to the Law on Combating Corruption, a person who reports a corruption offense or otherwise assists in combating corruption is under state protection.

According to the Anti-Corruption Law, a person who has reported a corruption offense is protected by the state.

Encouragement of persons who reported the facts of a corruption offense

Remuneration may be paid for the information provided by you (paragraph 7 of Article 4 and paragraph 3-1 of Article 24 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Combating Corruption").

Award:

1) a report on the fact of a corruption offense;

2) information about the location of the wanted person who committed a corruption offense;

3) for other assistance that was subsequently important for the detection, suppression, disclosure and investigation of a corruption offense.

The information provided by the person must be true in relation to the culprit:

1) a court decision on the imposition of an administrative penalty has entered into legal force;

2) the guilty verdict has entered into legal force;

3) a decision was made to terminate the criminal case on non-rehabilitating grounds.

How much money can I get?

From 30 MCI  to 100 MCI.

If the amount of the bribe or damage caused exceeds 1,000 MCI  - the reward is 10% of the amount, but not more than 4 thousand MCI.

When determining the amount of the incentive, the MCI applicable on the date of entry into force of the acts is applied.

You can find out more about the terms of the promotion in the Rules for Encouraging Persons who have reported the fact of a Corruption offense or otherwise assist in combating corruption.

In order to receive remuneration, it is necessary:

1) apply to the body that has been assisted;

2) write an application for an incentive;

3) provide an identity document and bank details.
