Speculation in medicines and increase in prices for them suppressed in Pavlodar region

The law enforcement agencies of the region reveal the facts of buying up medicines in large volumes for resale. Akim of Pavlodar region Abylkair Skakov held the online meeting with members of the emergency operations center, coordinating the measures against COVID-19.

“Law enforcement agencies work actively to reveal the facts of speculation in medicinal products, which are in great demand due to the epidemiological situation in the country. In particular, two women of Pavlodar, sold antipyretic drugs at inflated prices, were arrested last night”, the head of the regional police department Nurlan Masimov noted.

The head of the region charged not to maintain the pace of the work in this direction. Abylkair Skakov set the task before the head of DQCPSS, which was responsible for pharmaceutical control and charged to take an active part in suppressing speculation. In addition, DQCPSS should step up the work on informing people about availability of medicines in the pharmacies of the region.

The day before, the Head of the State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that the unreasonable increase in the cost of medicines was unacceptable during the pandemic and entrusted to bring guilty people to justice.
