The akimat of the region reviewed the results of the 3-year fight against midges, also discussed the algorithm of work for the upcoming three-year period.

The campaign of disinsection events this year in the territory of the region is fully completed. The efficiency of aircraft processing in 2023 was 94.5%, river – 84.3%, barrier – 92%.

- The fundamental innovation of this year was the comprehensive coordination of scientific support throughout the floodplain. In 2023, in addition to 27.0 thousand hectares of the floodplain territory of the regional center, 11.0 thousand hectares of the city of Aksu and 33.5 thousand hectares of the Aktogay and Terenkol districts were additionally covered by air treatment.Daily phenology and monitoring of social networks show that the situation is positive compared to previous years, - said the head of the Department of Subsoil Use Aigerim Kabyltayeva.

During the discussion, the proposals of the scientific group and the opinions of scientists were heard. Given the positive experience of a three-year contract, it is also recommended to adhere to a three-year contract. In addition, experts consider it necessary to double the volume of aircraft processing from 71.5 thousand to 147 thousand hectares, and the processing of the Ertis River in three rounds.

Asain Baykhanov recalled the complaints of Ekibastuz residents and instructed them to continue disinsection in their problem areas. The head of the region also instructed to take into account the areas of the Irtysh and Pavlodar districts and increase the volume of processing there in the upcoming preventive measures.

- The positive assessment of residents is the main indicator of the coordinated and general work of the akimat of the region, management, contracting organization and scientific group, - said the akim of the region.

By October 1, the Department of Subsoil Use, Environment and Water Resources, together with the Department of Economics and Budget Planning, was instructed to consider the disinsection budget for 2024-2026.
