Abylkair Skakov congratulated the Pavlodar wrestler with the Olympic medal "London 2012"

The reward found the hero. Ten years later, 39-year-old freestyle wrestler Daulet Shabanbai became one of the winners of the Olympic Games in London after the redistribution of awards. Akim of the region congratulated the champion with a well-deserved medal.

The native of Pavlodar region became one of the winners of the 2012 Olympic Games after the redistribution of awards. Daulet Shabanbai finished his performance in the weight category up to 120 kilograms in fifth place. However, in 2019, after rechecking the doping tests, the results of his rivals were canceled. Thus, the 39-year-old wrestler was recognized as the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in London.

Akim of the region congratulated the athlete on the long-awaited award and presented a cash certificate.

— Residents of the whole region are happy and proud of your achievements, – said Abylkair Skakov. – On behalf of all fellow countrymen, I congratulate you on the bronze medal of the Olympic Games in London. Now it is important to continue the work as a mentor, to contribute to the development and promotion of sports among the younger generation.

Daulet Shabanbai supported the idea of the head of the region, telling about future plans.

— I am glad that I justified the hopes of all Kazakhstanis. After all, I am not only the son of my parents, but of the whole nation. Now I dream of raising strong successors in sports," the wrestler shared.

After completing the necessary procedures, the 2012 Olympic prize–winner will be awarded an apartment. It should be noted that Daulet Shabanbai is a four-time bronze medalist of the Asian Championship. In 2014, he won a silver medal at the Asian Games.
