You just need to work: Zarina Baybatina - about the return of the former glory of the Pavlodar judo school

Akim of Pavlodar region Abylkair Skakov met with the silver medalist of the Paralympics in Tokyo. He thanked the athlete for her excellent performance and handed her a sign "Oblys aldynda sinirgen enbegi usin".
The head of the region noted that people from the Pavlodar region have not achieved such high results at the most prestigious sports competitions for a long time, and congratulated Zarina Baybatina on the well-deserved award.
- Your successful performance will become an example for many and will attract our younger generation to engage in Olympic sports, - the mayor said. - I am sure that you will not stop there and will continue to glorify Kazakhstan in the international arena.
The athlete herself, who started her sports career in the Pavlodar region, remembered that the regional judo school was once one of the strongest in Kazakhstan. And, according to Zarina, to restore her former glory, you only need to work.
- When I came to the sport at a young age, the Batyr judo school was very strong, - she stressed. - Take at least the fact that five Pavlodar athletes went to the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta at once.
Abylkair Skakov assured that today the region is working to revive the old traditions of judo.
At the Summer Games held in Tokyo, Zarina Baybatina became the first Kazakh athlete to win a Paralympic medal in judo among women. She competed in the weight category over 70 kilograms. In the fight for the "gold", the athlete fought with Dursadaf Karimova from Azerbaijan.
