Meeting on the field

The practice of involving students in spring and field work was resumed. The head of the region Bulat Bakauov met with students of the colleges working on the field.

During the working trip to Irtysh area akim of Pavlodar region talked with students from the Agrarian Technical College (Krasnoarmeika), who had arrived in the region under the program “Serpin” from South Kazakhstan and now worked in the farm “Sanzhar”.

“We like to be here. It’s not hot in the summer here. In the morning we are taken to work. We are provided with food and in the evening we are taken back to the hostel in Agashoryn village. Our wage – KZ 40000”, Barat Bakhytzhan said.

Then in the farm “Urazbayev” Bulat Bakauov talked with students from the Agricultural and Technical College (Irtyshsk). The head of the farm Sailau Urazbayev said that he had employed about 20 students and he was satisfied with their work.

“Not so long ago, students worked on the fields from April to October. Today young people, who have chosen a profession related to agriculture, must work outside the educational institutions. It is great experience for those who after college will enter the university and will be a professional farmer”, B.Bakauov said.

In addition, akim met with the Irtysh agrarians and discussed the issue of creating a cooperative machine and tractor station with them. The agrarians told that they did not always reap a harvest in time, because there was not enough harvesting equipment. Almost all small farms of Irtysh area (about 100) have such problems.

 “Our farm cultivates 600 hectares with one combine. I would be interested in hiring the harvesting equipment”, the head of the farm “Lada” Viktor Lavrentiyev said.

The peasants have been offered to unite and create a cooperative, so they will have the opportunity to purchase machinery. 50% of the cost is subsidized by the state.

“If a small farm buys a new combine, it will spend about KZ 20-25 mln, but the machine will work only 20 days a year. If you purchase machinery by combined efforts, in fact, you will get a new combine at half price and you can use it not only on your fields, but also rent it out”, the head of the region noted.

“The authority is ready to help farmers with completion of documents for the cooperative. Moreover, if it is necessary, peasants will have help with initial financing through the socio-entrepreneurial corporation “Pavlodar””, akim of the region added.

Bulat Bakauov charged officials of the Department of Agriculture to meet with agrarians and consider the issue of creating the cooperative.
