The department's mission is to implement state policy to ensure social harmony and political stability, foster civic patriotism and the stable development of the nation.
Parties.
There are 7 branches of regional political parties operating in the city.:

- Kostanay regional branch of the National Social Democratic Party - Chairman Damir Satpayevich Dzhakanov.

Religious organizations.
20 religious associations are registered in the city of Kostanay. In order to increase the religious literacy of the population, the department organizes monthly meetings on the prevention of religious extremism and terrorism in labor collectives, with young people with the participation of members of the city IRG.
Non-governmental organizations.
There are 524 registered non-governmental organizations in the city of Kostanay, of which 285 are active. In addition, 24 NGOs are inactive, 8 are under liquidation, 2 have suspended their activities, and 205 have branches.
State social order.
Today, the interaction between the state and NGOs is mainly based on the implementation of state social orders.
The department's functions include the promotion and monitoring of the use of state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As you know, the national standard of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been amended in terms of spelling the word "KAZAKHSTAN" in the Latin script "QAZAQSTAN". The transition period for the replacement of previously manufactured state coats of arms with new ones is until January 1, 2022.
Monitoring is carried out once every six months, warnings are issued in case of violations.
The city has a functioning Community Council of Kostanay, whose work is coordinated by the Maslikhat in close cooperation with the Department of Internal Policy.
