The procedure for registering an individual entrepreneur in Kazakhstan

Individuals who decide to open their own small business can open an individual entrepreneur within one day. How to register an individual entrepreneur and what is important for an entrepreneur to know about the registration procedure. This was told in the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

What is individual entrepreneurship?

Individual entrepreneurship is an independent, proactive activity of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, kandasov, aimed at obtaining net income, based on the property of the individuals themselves and carried out on behalf of individuals, for their risk and under their property responsibility.

At the same time, citizens of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Belarus, Armenia and the Kyrgyz Republic, who permanently reside in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, have the right to carry out individual entrepreneurial activity on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.     

Individual entrepreneurship is carried out in the form of personal or joint entrepreneurship.

Personal entrepreneurship is carried out by one individual independently on the basis of his property.

Joint entrepreneurship is carried out by a group of individual entrepreneurs on the basis of property belonging to them on the basis of common ownership

How to register an individual entrepreneur?

For registration as an individual entrepreneur, an individual sends a notification to the tax authority at the location. The registration service as an individual entrepreneur is free of charge.

You can send a notification about the start of activities as an individual entrepreneur in 2 ways:

 - electronic - through the e-license portal of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

 - in private on paper - through the centers for the provision of services of state revenue bodies or the State Corporation "Government for Citizens".

You can also submit a notification of the start of activities as an individual entrepreneur in the banking applications of Kaspi.kz, Halyk Bank.

The tax authorities, within one working day from the date of receipt of the tax application, register an individual as an individual entrepreneur.

In the notification sent for registration of an individual entrepreneur, you must independently choose one of the tax regimes under which the individual entrepreneur will operate.

How to change registration data for an already registered individual entrepreneur?

An individual entrepreneur is obliged to submit a notification to the tax authority at the location no later than ten working days from the date of changes in his registration data or data on the participants (members) of the joint venture.

Registration data is changed by the tax authority within one business day following the day of receipt of the notification from the individual entrepreneur.
