Bird deaths were recorded in 6 districts of the Akmola region. These are atbasarsky, Astrakhan, Bulandynsky, Egindykolsky, Zerendinsky and Zharkainsky districts.
According to the results of the study of the RSE on the PHV "national reference center for veterinary medicine" of the Ministry of agriculture dated September 20, 2020 No. 1-233-20-B,
from the materials received in Shoyndykol village of Zharkain district, avian influenza was detected. A quarantine has been established. The veterinary service sends pathological materials for diagnosis to the laboratory.
In addition, the akimat of the Akmola region sent an application to the Ministry of agriculture for the allocation of avian influenza vaccine in the amount of 510,300 doses for vaccination of livestock in localities located along reservoirs, lakes and rivers.
In order to promptly respond to measures to prevent avian influenza and prevent contact of poultry with wild, synanthropic birds (crows, pigeons, sparrows, etc.), the transfer of poultry to a closed type of content, explanatory work is carried out with the heads of poultry farms, residents of localities.
Veterinary workers provide daily clinical inspection of poultry stock in poultry farms, farmsteads of citizens, synanthropic and migratory birds. Also, wild fauna is monitored on migration routes, in places where birds congregate and nest, and reservoirs are monitored.
The work on monitoring the death of birds is under daily control.
The Ministry of agriculture, the results of the conducted research and the establishment of the National reference center causes of deaths of poultry in several districts of the North Kazakhstan region, said the outbreak of avian influenza.
In turn, taking into account these circumstances, the veterinary service of the Akmola region has taken the situation on the territory of the region under special control.
Veterinary services of Akmola region, together with the territorial subdivisions of Department of authorized body and the akimats of the regions appropriate measures are taken to survey the number of birds on site, conducting of explanatory work among the population about the need to ensure isolation of poultry, in order to prevent contact with migratory birds.
In connection with the need for preventive immunization of poultry against influenza in threatened areas, the Veterinary Department has calculated the need for a vaccine and sent an application to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 510.3 thousand doses.
In order to ensure the well-being of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the region, the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Akmola region asks subjects of all forms of ownership to notify the veterinary service of cases of death, simultaneous disease of several animals or their unusual behavior.
Before the arrival of specialists in the field of veterinary medicine, state veterinary and sanitary inspectors take measures to isolate animals in case of suspected disease.
