On October 6, a solemn event dedicated to Teacher's Day was held at the Konaev City House of Culture. The best representatives of the education sector were awarded for their professional achievements and contribution to the development of the education system.
During the event, the professional achievements of teachers and specialists who have achieved high results in the field of education were noted.
Today, 34,767 teachers work in the Almaty region. Of these, 33,306 work in public and 1,461 in private educational institutions. This year, 7,292 teachers are expected to receive advanced training.
Teachers of the region also show high results at the national level. 13 teachers were awarded the title of "Best Teacher". Since the beginning of the year, 19 teachers of the region have entered the republican stage of this competition.
This year, 6 young specialists from the Almaty region took part in the republican pedagogical hackathon, three of them won prizes. In addition, Tabys Shyrak, a teacher from Ili district, took the first place in the VIII republican contest "To a new school – a new teacher".
Within the framework of the solemn event, the head of the Department of Education of the Almaty region, Kairat Zhumanov, congratulated the teachers on their professional holiday and noted the importance of their work for society.
"A teacher is a respected member of the profession who shapes the future of the nation, gives the younger generation knowledge and education, and instills moral and patriotic qualities in them. The result of the teacher's work is the achievements of his students, the future of the country and the development of society," said Kairat Zhumanov.
During the festive event, representatives of the education sector were awarded the medal "Enbek Ardageri", the medal of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Ibray Altynsarin, the badge "Bilim Beru salasyn uzdigi", as well as Honorary diplomas of the akim of the region and the head of the Department of Education.
In addition, the winners of the nominations "Best organization of preschool education – 2026", "Best rural school – 2026", "Best organization of technical and vocational education – 2026", "Best Classroom Teacher – 2026" and "Best Teacher of the Year – 2026" were awarded.
According to the results of the 2025-2026 academic year, district and city education departments, which showed high results at international and national levels in creative and research works, Olympiads and competitions, also won prizes in the team competition.
The solemn event dedicated to Teacher's Day became a tribute to teachers who devoted themselves to the field of education, and a platform for honoring their professional achievements. The holiday ended with a concert program.

The first stage of the Presidential Olympiad has begun in Almaty region
Today, on October 1, students of the Almaty region are taking part in the first (qualifying) stage of the Presidential Olympiad in subjects of the natural and mathematical cycle.
The intellectual competition is aimed at identifying gifted and capable schoolchildren, assessing their level of subject knowledge, as well as developing logical thinking and scientific and intellectual potential.
This year, 673 students are taking part in the first stage of the Olympiad. Participants will test their knowledge and abilities in mathematics, physics, chemistry and computer science.
Following the results of the Olympiad, 20 students will qualify for the second stage.
The Presidential Olympiad allows students not only to improve their subject knowledge, but also to develop their research interest, strengthen their intellectual abilities and demonstrate their capabilities.
In the Almaty region, work continues on a systematic basis to support gifted students, deepen their knowledge and prepare for national-level intellectual competitions.

The first stage of the republican Olympiad for students of rural schools was held in Almaty region
The first (school) stage of the republican Olympiad for students of rural schools was held in Almaty region from September 28 to September 30. The competition is organized in an online format on the platform smart.daryn.kz .
The main purpose of the Olympiad is to determine the level of subject knowledge of rural school students, identify gifted and capable students, and create conditions for the development of their intellectual potential.
In particular, 17,633 students took part in the Olympiad in the Almaty region. The students completed assignments in selected subjects in an online format, demonstrating their level of knowledge and training.
In addition, the Olympiad allows students of rural schools to show their abilities and get the opportunity to continue participating in subsequent stages of the intellectual competition.
Following the results of the first stage, the students who showed the best results will continue to participate in the next stages of the republican Olympiad.
Answers to current questions in the field of education
The Department of Education of the Almaty region constantly analyzes incoming appeals from citizens and provides information and explanatory work on topical issues in the field of education.
The analysis shows that citizens are most often interested in the issues of teacher employment, filling vacant positions, assigning and confirming qualification categories, establishing probation, labor relations, support for young professionals, as well as the activities of preschool organizations.
The recruitment of teachers to work in educational organizations is carried out in accordance with the established procedure. A competition is announced for vacant teaching positions, and relevant information is posted on official Internet resources and authorized information systems. Candidates submit the necessary documents and undergo a competitive selection process. Following the results of the competition, an employment contract is concluded with the winner and a corresponding appointment order is issued.
Special attention is paid to the professional development of teaching staff. The assignment or confirmation of the qualification category is carried out through the certification procedure. Opportunities for professional adaptation, mentoring and professional development are provided for young professionals. Teachers who have found employment in rural areas may be provided with appropriate social support measures within the framework of current legislation.
A significant part of the incoming questions concerns the field of preschool education. These include the procedure for obtaining a state educational order, providing places in kindergartens, solving the personnel shortage, accepting children with special educational needs, as well as preventing illegal collection of funds from parents.
To reduce the shortage of places in preschool organizations, it is planned to create additional places, increase the capacity of existing organizations, attract private kindergartens to the state educational order and distribute vacant places through automated systems.
Important areas remain the observance of the labor rights of education workers, ensuring the legality of decisions made, openness of procedures and accessibility of services to the public.
The Department of Education of the Almaty region will continue its information and explanatory work and provide citizens with the necessary information on topical issues in the field of education.
