Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Holy See!

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Holy See (Vatican City State) were established on 17 October 1992.

The Embassy of Kazakhstan to the Holy See opened in January 2025. Since November 2024 Timur Primbetov was appointed as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Holy See.

The Embassy is part of the unified system of diplomatic services under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Embassy fulfils the following core functions:

• implementation of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy;
• representation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in diplomatic relations with the Holy See;
• ensuring by diplomatic means and methods the political, cultural, humanitarian and other interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan in relations with the Holy See;
• promoting the development of cooperation between state and public organizations of Kazakhstan and the Holy See;
• participation in preparing international agreements between Kazakhstan and the Holy See, proposals on signing, fulfilling and terminating agreements, as well as establishing control over the fulfillment of agreements between the two states.

The Embassy of Kazakhstan to the Holy See also represents Kazakhstan in the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta. Diplomatic relations were established on 4 February 1994.
