How to get sanatorium resort treatment for military personnel?

If there are health indications, military personnel are provided with sanatorium resort treatment at the expense of the Armed Forces, other troops and military formations in the structure they are serving.

This right is enshrined in law and is provided for health care, disease prevention and recovery.

This life situation explains how military personnel can receive rehabilitation in a sanatorium, as well as the documents needed.

Get a sanatorium resort card

A sanatorium resort card is issued by the military outpatient facility.

To get a sanatorium resort card the one should:

  • * take general blood and urine tests, undergo an ECG, and have a chest x-ray (if 6 months have passed since the previous examination) ;
  • * undergo a MD's examination;
  • * get a sanatorium card in the form 069/у, approved by order No. ҚР ДСМ-175/2020.

After receiving a sanatorium resort card, the service member departs for the sanatorium. The following items must be brought therewith:

  • referral for sanatorium resort treatment, in the form in accordance with Annex 3 of Order No. 723;
  • a sanatorium resort card in the form 069/у, approved by order No. ҚР ДСМ-175/2020;
  • health record of a military serviceman.

Get a referral

A serviceman upon a command shall submit a report with medical documents attached about his referral for sanatorium-resort treatment.

In military units and institutions, the review of reports and the selection of military personnel for referral to sanatorium resort treatment is done by a specially designated board.

Health indications for sanatorium resort treatment to military personnel are determined in accordance with Annex 2 of Order No. 723.

The board's decision is outlined in minutes in any form.

If the board’s decision is positive, a referral for sanatorium resort treatment is issued in the form specified in Annex 3 to Order No. 723.

Undergo an annual preventive medical examination and get a MD's opinion on the need for sanatorium resort treatment

Military personnel undergo PME in military medical units of military units and institutions and/or outpatient departments of hospitals.

To pass the PME the one should:

  • Take mandatory tests and undergo special research methods;
  • undergo a medical examination by specialist MDs;
  • get recommendations about the need for sanatorium treatment.
