Water resources are a national treasure in Kazakhstan, and their use is regulated by law. If you want to use water for more than just personal needs (such as gardening, livestock, or industrial purposes), but in larger quantities, you must obtain a special water use permit.
A permit is required if you:
Important: If you use water only for personal needs in the home (drinking, cooking, household purposes), a permit is not required.
There are two ways to submit the application:
Through the e-government portal eGov.kz
Or contact a territorial division of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in person.
Use water only within the permitted volume;
Prevent discharge of pollutants;
Keep track of water usage (using meters or logs);
If required, submit a report to the local authority annually.
