To ensure the safe use of liquefied petroleum gas in households, the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan establishes specific rules for refilling gas cylinders. Below are explanations on where it is allowed and prohibited to refill household gas cylinders.
According to para.5 of Article 28 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Gas and Gas Supply” retail sale of liquefied petroleum gas in household cylinders is carried out by owners of the gas filling stations and gas filling points, who are obliged to ensure good technical condition of household cylinders.
However, in accordance with para. 7 of Article 28 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Gas and Gas Supply” filling in of household cylinders with liquefied petroleum gas at gas filling stations is prohibited.
Moreover, in accordance with para. 3 of Article 170 of the Code of Administrative Offenses the violation of metering and (or) sale of the sale and (or) liquefied petroleum gas established by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on gas and gas supply, with the exception of the case provided for in part ten of this article shall entail a fine for the small business entities in the amount of seventy-five, for medium-sized business entities - in the amount of one hundred and fifty, for large business entities - in the amount of seven hundred monthly calculation indices.
