How can Kazakhstanis register with the consulate?

Kazakhstanis who entered the foreign state for study, work or permanent residence are recommended to register with the consulate.

Consular registration will allow to resolve many issues abroad (such as participation in elections and referendums, force majeure situations assistance provision, follow-up paperwork with foreign competent authorities).

Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan traveling to another country for temporary residence include staff of a foreign institution, citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan engaged in temporary work in foreign countries, military personnel performing peacekeeping duties assigned in accordance with quotas assigned to the Republic of Kazakhstan for positions in international organizations, as well as persons who are studying, receiving medical treatment, on a tourist and private trip, at the invitation of organizations and individuals, on a business trip to foreign countries.

How to get the service at the RK consulate abroad (required documents):

To register the Republic of Kazakhstan citizens permanently residing outside the Republic of Kazakhstan:

  • An identity card of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

  • decision on registration of documents for departure from the Republic of Kazakhstan for permanent residence (for verification).
  • Filled in registration card of the Republic of Kazakhstan citizens permanently residing outside the Republic of Kazakhstan.

To register the Republic of Kazakhstan citizens temporarily residing outside the Republic of Kazakhstan:

 

  • an identity document or an electronic document from the digital document service (for identification purposes).
  • A filled in registration card of the Republic of Kazakhstan citizen temporarily residing outside the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The total period for the provision of public services through foreign institutions is 2 working days.

How to register for consular registration online?

There are two ways to register with the consulate:

  • online;
  • at the nearest Kazakh diplomatic mission or consular office.

How to get the service online

Log in to the e-government portal and click on the “Order the service online” button.

Fill out the application and sign it with an electronic digital signature (EDS).

In the personal account, be familiar with a generated electronic document and notification of the enquiry output.

The general public service provision term through the RoK consultates abroad is 2 working days, when submitting an application through the portal is 1 working day.

 

Additional information

Upon the registration, an attachment to the passport of the RK citizenship or a notice of temporary registration shall be issued to those permanently residing outside the Republic of Kazakhstan (when contacting through the e-Government web portal).

Upon registration of the Republic of Kazakhstan citizen temporarily residing outside the Republic of Kazakhstan an attachment to the passport of the RK citizenship is not issued.
