Who Can Apply for Permanent Residence Authorization?
Under the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreign nationals and stateless persons belonging to categories specified by law may apply, including:
persons who have entered Kazakhstan on a permanent residence visa;
holders of the relevant multiple-entry investor visa;
persons who have entered on a visa issued on the basis of an in-demand profession;
persons arriving from countries with which Kazakhstan has concluded agreements on visa-free entry and stay;
persons holding refugee status in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
ethnic Kazakhs, regardless of the category of visa issued to them.
What Requirements Must Be Met?
To obtain permanent residence authorization, applicants must meet the requirements of migration legislation.
Depending on the applicant's category, the following factors are taken into account:
lawful entry into and stay in Kazakhstan;
results of the immigrant eligibility assessment;
proof of financial solvency or eligibility for exemption from this requirement;
absence of legal grounds preventing permanent residence;
completion of mandatory fingerprint registration;
availability of the documents required for residence and registration at the place of residence.
Important! Having relatives in Kazakhstan, previously holding citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, or being born in the country may be relevant under certain provisions of the legislation, but these circumstances alone do not guarantee approval of permanent residence authorization.
