Summer is a time for vacations and travel. It is for this reason that during the summer period in the PSC of Kazakhstan, the flow of customers who apply for registration of identity cards and passports increases. In the six months of 2022, 39,874 identity cards and passports were issued in the Zhetisu region. We tell you how to get a passport and an identity card in the PSC as comfortably and quickly as possible.
Getting a passport
Passport and identity card services are not yet available online. For the registration of these documents, you must contact the PSC. At the same time, the service is provided on the principle of extraterritoriality – you can apply to any PSC regardless of the place of residence. In the PSC, the service of issuing an identity card and passport is provided by employees of the migration service. If you are applying for a passport for the first time, you will only need an identity card. If your passport expires, you can replace it 1-2 months before the expiration date. If you applied for a new passport after the expiration of the old one, there are no penalties for delay. When submitting an application, a PSC employee will take your photo on the spot for documents. The state fee for the production of a passport is 8 MCI (the MCI is considered to be established on January 1, 2022) or (24,504 tenge). The standard service delivery period is 15 working days. If desired, you can speed up the process with an additional payment. Residents of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent and Aktobe can speed up the process from three to one working day according to this scheme:
1 category of urgency – up to 1 working day - 4,983 tenge;
2 category of urgency – up to 3 working days - 2,752 tenge.
There is another scheme for regional centers:
1 category of urgency – up to 3 working days - 4,983 tenge;
2 category of urgency – up to 5 working days - 2,752 tenge.
And only the third category is available for districts and cities of regions: up to 7 working days with an additional payment of 1,116 tenge.
When applying for a passport for a child, you need to provide a birth certificate of the child and pay the fee. The presence of one of the parents is mandatory.
Identification card
Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan receive an identity card when they reach the age of 16. Upon reaching this age, the document must be received within a month, otherwise a fine of 7 MCI or (21,441 tenge) is provided. You will pay the same fine if you do not receive a new certificate within a month after the expiration of the old one. At the same time, if you pay the fine within a week, the amount will be 50% lower. If you have a passport, you must also take it with you when you issue your ID. At the same time, the state fee for an identity card is only 0.2 MCI or 613 tenge. You can speed up the service according to the same scheme as with a passport. In addition, there is a preferential category of customers who are exempt from paying the state fee for issuing a certificate and passport. This:
• WWII veterans and persons equated to them;
• Heroes of the Soviet Union and Socialist Labor;
• disabled people of all groups, as well as one of the parents of a disabled person from childhood, a disabled child;
• elderly people living in institutions for the elderly and for the disabled;
• orphans and children left without parental care, living in orphanages or boarding schools;
• mothers with many children, awarded the title of "Mother Heroine", awarded with pendants "Altyn Alka" and "Kumis alka";
• citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
We ask customers to update their documents in a timely manner so as not to pay fines and book their visit to the PSC in advance.
