By 2025, 114 thousand hectares of irrigated land will be restored in the region. This was announced by the Head of the region Kanat Bozumbayev during a press conference. In addition, it is planned to increase agricultural products by 35%. As a result, 600 thousand new jobs will be created.
The question of sugar beet was also voiced at the briefing. This year it is planned to receive 200 thousand tons of products. And in the future, they will increase the area of irrigated lands and canals, which will give its results and, according to forecasts, the harvest of sweet root fruits will be many times more.
"This year it is planned to increase 10-15 thousand hectares of sugar beet. The capacity of the two plants is planned to be increased to 800 thousand. It is planned to receive 500 thousand tons of beets by 2025. To do this, we need to support and help the peasants of the region. It is also necessary to bring the Aksu and Koksu sugar factories to full capacity. Then there will be no sugar shortage in the region. "- said the head of Zhetysu region.
