We all live at a time when electricity has become as necessary for us as the sun for plants. Look around you, everywhere we are surrounded by various electrical appliances, wherever we are, at work, at home, on the street. They are everywhere and everywhere. It is difficult to imagine our life without all these things, we have become dependent on electricity as on air, water and food, as we are very used to comfort. Analysis of fires that occur during the operation of electrical installations shows that the most common causes are:
- short circuits in wires and electrical equipment;
- leaving electric heating installations unattended;
- overheating due to poor contact;
- overload of electrical installations;
The Department of Emergency Situations of the Zhetysu region reminds that when operating electrical appliances, it is necessary to know the following:
- if the electrical wiring in the house or apartment is old and dilapidated, and the sockets are faulty, invite a qualified electrician for repair; you should not trust the repair of electrical equipment to random people;
- do not check the presence of electric current in devices or wires with your fingers. In order not to damage the insulation and to avoid short circuits (flashes of flame), it is impossible to pinch the wires with doors, window frames, fix the wires on nails. It is necessary to ensure that the electrical wires do not come into contact with heating batteries, water pipes, telephone and radio transmission wires;
- do not plug more than two electrical appliances into one outlet; due to exceeding the maximum permissible load, an emergency operation of the wiring may occur, as a result of which a "short circuit" may occur and, as a consequence, a fire;
- when leaving the house, even for a few minutes, turn off all electrical appliances from the sockets;
- never leave children alone in a room with electrical appliances turned on;
- do not allow children to play at the outlets, stick pins, pins, pull wires into them, as this can lead to electric shock; If a fire does occur: - immediately call 101 or 112 (from a mobile phone);
- try to leave the burning room as soon as possible, help small children and elderly people get out of the danger zone;
- be sure to close the doors and windows behind you (if possible), running away from the burning room, otherwise the fire will flare up even faster from the influx of fresh air;
- smoke on fire is more dangerous than fire, therefore, if the room is heavily smoky, move to the exit on all fours, covering your nose and mouth with a wet cloth; if you do not have the opportunity to call the fire service, knock on the floor, on the walls, loudly call for help from neighbors, try to crawl to the door or window, lying on the floor - there's more fresh air, don't panic, stay calm and wait for help.
