Safety measures during the autumn heating period
"The stove is not only a source of heat, but also a source of fire danger" – known to everyone at home. That is why the employees of the OCHS of the Karatal district urge to be as attentive as possible when operating the furnace equipment.
During preventive raids, as part of the bypass of the heating period, talking with residents of the private sector, inspectors and employees of the PCH-8 in Ushtobe remind elementary safety rules when using stoves, and that children should never be left unattended near the stove heating.
Also, the population is handed memos on fire safety. At the onset of the autumn heating season, it is very important to check how the owners keep the stoves and whether the wiring is working properly.
Persons at least 18 years of age who are familiar with the rules of furnace heating (fireplaces) and this instruction are allowed to furnace furnaces.
When heating furnaces, the following dangerous and harmful factors may affect the stoker and other persons in the room:
the occurrence of fire when unattended working furnaces;
burns when igniting fuel in furnaces with gasoline, kerosene and other flammable liquids, as well as when opening the furnace door abruptly and looking into it;
carbon monoxide poisoning when the chimney valve is closed prematurely.
A metal sheet with a size of at least 50x70 cm should be nailed on the wooden floor in front of the furnace hole. The distance from the furnace openings to the combustible structures and materials should be at least 1.25 m.
It is necessary to clean chimneys and stoves from soot before and during the entire heating season at least:
1 time in two months for heating furnaces;
1 time per month for cooking stoves and boilers.
In attics, all chimneys and walls in which the smoke channels pass must be whitewashed.
Fuel (coal, peat, firewood, sawdust, etc.) should be stored in specially adapted premises or on specially designated sites located no closer than 8 m from the combustible structures of buildings and structures.
The furnace should be stopped at least 2 hours before going to bed, or leaving the room for a long time.
If there is a malfunction in the operation of the furnace, extinguish the fire in the furnace and take measures to eliminate the malfunction.
Before the start of the heating season, the stove (fireplace) must be thoroughly checked and repaired. It is forbidden to operate faulty furnaces and heating devices.
The stoker is obliged to comply with fire safety rules, to know the location of primary fire extinguishing means.
