Fire safety rules for the operation of motor vehicles.

Fire safety rules for the operation of motor vehicles.

Fires in cars are fleeting and pose a great danger to drivers and passengers. The abundance of electrical equipment and synthetic interior trim in the event of a fire emit a large amount of toxic gases.
The analysis of fires in cars shows that the most common
causes of their occurrence are malfunction of electrical equipment and malfunction of systems, mechanisms and components of the vehicle.
Follow the simple rules of fire safety when operating the car!
The fire extinguisher is an integral part
of the vehicle configuration. Keep an eye on its availability and serviceability.
It is recommended to have two fire extinguishers in the car, one must be placed in the interior of the car so that it does not interfere with the management of the vehicle, and if necessary, it can be easily and quickly used, the second can be placed in the luggage compartment.
Do not check for fuel in the tank with an open flame
(lit matches, lighters). It is forbidden to warm up cold engines, gearbox crankcases, axle reducers, fuel tanks of diesel engines and other components of cars with open fire.
Be wary of various thermal insulation materials that, when installed, come into contact with the heating nodes of the car.
Keep an eye on the serviceability of all electrical equipment. Pass the technical inspection on time.
What should I do if you find signs of a fire?
Immediately report this by phone "101" to the fire service, or to the single number of the dispatch service "112" (in this case, it is necessary to name the address of the object, the place of the fire, as well as to inform your last name and phone number).

         Take feasible measures:
1. Don't panic.
2. Stop and turn off the car engine.
3. Get out of the car and disembark the passengers, making sure that they
have moved to a safe distance (at least 10 meters). You can
also ask them to call the rescue service or do it yourself.
4. If the fire is small and is still in the smoldering stage
, try to extinguish the fire yourself, using a fire extinguisher,
covering the hearth with insulating material to limit the access of oxygen. To do this, you can use thick clothing.
5. If the fire started in the engine compartment and it is not clear what kind of force it is,
it is better not to tear off the hood and call the Ministry of Emergency Situations. When trying to extinguish the fire, you can not lift the hood cover, opening access to fresh air. Lift the lid and direct the fire extinguisher jet to the intended area of ignition. It is better to do it together: one person lifts the lid, the second with a pre-prepared fire extinguisher extinguishes.
6. If a fire has started in the cabin, do not open windows and doors
unnecessarily. From lack of oxygen, the flame can fade and go into the stage of smoldering.
7. Do not try to extinguish a large fire yourself.
