The burning of food is too common a situation!
The burning of food is one of the very frequent situations. Left unattended, food burned on the stove causes severe smoke, it can cause poisoning of people and the occurrence of a fire.
If you do not follow fire safety rules when cooking at home, then even such an ordinary activity as cooking or frying can lead to tragedy and irreversible consequences.
The cause of burning food most often becomes ordinary carelessness. A pot or frying pan with food is put on the stove, turn on the fire and leave..... Someone in the next room, and someone out of the house altogether. Sometimes, after leaving the kitchen, a person forgets about the food left to warm up or cook, lies down and falls asleep. After some time, the liquid boils out of the dish, and the products begin to burn. At the same time, acrid smoke is released, from which a sleeping person can suffocate.
Firefighters remind that cooking utensils, towels or curtains, vegetable oil or a wooden cutting board can catch fire from food burning on the stove. There are cases when the flame flaring up on the stove spread through the kitchen and caused a serious fire in an apartment or house.
The Department of Emergency Situations of the Karatal district recalls some fire safety rules:
- do not turn on the stoves unnecessarily and do not leave the burners turned on unattended;
- do not leave cooking or warming food unattended.
- do not cover pots or pans with objects made of combustible materials;
- if the vegetable oil in the frying pan catches fire, do not pour it into the sink and do not extinguish it with water, this can lead to burns and the spread of fire throughout the room;
- do not place an open fire source near curtains, towels, or other combustible materials;
- do not store spare gas cylinders next to the stove, do not dry firewood next to the stove or on it.
- use only serviceable electrical appliances at home, use them in accordance with the instructions and do not leave them unattended;
- do not attempt to detect a gas leak with matches or other open fire source;
- do not overload the electrical network. Do not plug all appliances into the same outlet.
