Matches are not a toy for children
The analysis of fires resulting from children's pranks with fire shows that they are often associated with the lack of children's skills of careful handling of fire, insufficient control over their behavior by adults and the inability of parents and teachers to properly organize children's leisure time.
The desire for independence is especially pronounced at a time when children are left alone. Leaving a child alone in an apartment, it is difficult to be sure that he will not dare to play with a box of matches, will not want to set fire to paper, will not be interested in the work of household appliances. In this connection, there is a need to educate the skills of careful handling of fire from an early age.
Children should understand that a fire is a serious disaster for people. Such situations can be prevented if you pay more attention to children, properly organize their leisure time, teach fire safety measures, teach how to handle primary fire extinguishing means. Teachers and parents should more often conduct conversations and classes with children on the study of fire safety rules and instilling skills of careful handling of fire.
Measures to prevent fires due to the pranks of children are simple:
- do not leave matches and lighters in the area of accessibility for children;
- do not let children buy matches and cigarettes;
- follow the pastime of children;
- if possible, do not leave children unattended;
- do not allow children to use heating and electrical appliances.
Remember, following simple rules on fire safety will help to preserve the health and lives of people, property, including your own. Failure to comply with the rules can lead to severe and irreparable losses.
