When handling fire in a steppe area
A fire is an uncontrolled gorenje causing material damage, harm to the life and health of citizens, the interests of society and the state. Steppe (field) fires occur in an open area in the presence of dry grass or ripe bread. They are seasonal in nature and are more common in summer as the herbs (loaves) ripen, less common in spring and practically absent in winter. The most fire-hazardous situation develops in late spring and early summer, when the weather is dry and hot. Their propagation speed can reach 20-30 km/h. The causes of fires in steppe and grain massifs can be thunderstorms, accidents of land and air transport, accidents of grain harvesting equipment, terrorist acts and careless handling of open fire.
In the dry season and in the steppes, special care should be taken when handling fire:
in the steppe, it is better to build a fire on bare land;
the place intended for the fire should be cleaned of dry grass, leaves, branches and other forest debris;
do not leave the fire unattended;
do not leave the campsite without making sure that the fire is extinguished;
if there are small pockets of fire, then they must be extinguished immediately: pour water, cover with sand, earth, cover with pieces of tarpaulin, covering the access of oxygen, trample and knock down with wet rags or bundles of branches;
During the fire season in the steppe it is prohibited:
throw burning matches, cigarette butts and shake out hot ashes from smoking pipes;
use wads of flammable or smoldering materials when hunting;
leave in the steppe (except for specially designated places) oiled or soaked in gasoline, kerosene and other combustible substances wiping material;
refuel the tanks of working internal combustion engines, take out equipment with a faulty engine power system for work, as well as smoke or use an open fire near cars fueled with fuel;
leave behind bottles or glass fragments;
burn grass, as well as stubble in the fields;
build bonfires.
