Memo on fire safety in woodlands
The main culprit of forest fires is a person – his negligence when using fire in the forest during work and rest. Most fires occur in places of picnics, picking mushrooms and berries, during hunting, from an abandoned burning match, an unlit cigarette. During the hunter's shot, the wad that flew out of the gun begins to smolder, setting fire to the dry grass. You can often see how littered the forest is with bottles and glass fragments. In sunny weather, these fragments focus the sun's rays as incendiary lenses. Not completely extinguished fire in the forest is the cause of subsequent major disasters.
In woodlands, grass-roots fires most often occur, burning forest litter, undergrowth and undergrowth, herbaceous shrub cover, dead wood, tree rhizomes, etc. During the dry period, riding fires are dangerous with the wind, in which the fire also spreads along the crowns of trees, mainly coniferous species. The speed of the grass–roots fire is from 0.1 to 3 m/min, the top – up to 100 m/min in the direction of the wind.
To prevent the occurrence of fires in forests during the fire-hazardous period, IT is PROHIBITED:
Make bonfires in any forests (both coniferous and deciduous), on burning grounds, in areas of damaged forest, peat bogs, in places of logging (in cutting areas) that are not cleared of felling residues and harvested wood, in places with dried grass, as well as under the crowns of trees.
Throw burning matches, cigarette butts and hot ashes from smoking pipes, glass (glass bottles, cans, etc.).
Use wads of combustible or smoldering materials when hunting.
4.Leave materials oiled or soaked in gasoline, kerosene or other combustible substances in places not specifically provided for this purpose.
5.Refuel the fuel tanks of internal combustion engines when the engine is running, use cars with a faulty engine power system, as well as smoke or use an open fire near cars fueled with fuel. It is also prohibited to clog the forest with household, construction, industrial and other waste and garbage. Incineration of garbage taken out of settlements can be carried out near the forest only in specially designated areas. During the fire season, the burning of garbage is prohibited!
It is prohibited to burn grass on land plots directly adjacent to forests, protective and landscaping forest plantations, without constant supervision.
