How to issue a passport to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who are abroad
If you study, work or live abroad, and you need to obtain / change a passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, you do not need to return home to Kazakhstan. You can simply contact the embassy or consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan and provide the following documents:
• statement;
• a document proving the identity of a citizen:
- when exchanging a passport - a passport of a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- children under the age of 16 - a birth certificate, a document proving the identity of one of the parents and the notarial consent of the other;
• four color photographs of 3.5x4.5 size (in accordance with the requirements);
• a document confirming the fact of permanent residence, study, work abroad, marital status, health (original and copy);
• receipt of consular fee.
The service became available thanks to the joint work of the Ministry of Digitalization, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The term for the provision of the service is 80 calendar days.
