Fire safety rules for the operation of the bath
The most common causes of fires in baths are: violation of fire safety rules, violation of the rules of operation of furnace equipment, careless handling of fire, violation of the rules of operation of electrical equipment. One of the main reasons is careless handling of fire while intoxicated.
When operating a bathhouse, fireplace, stove – it is necessary to strictly observe the rules of fire safety. When building a bathhouse or designing a stove and fireplace, fire safety is the most important factor. To avoid unpleasant consequences, you need to pay attention to the features of the construction and operation of a bath, stove or fireplace.
It is necessary to take care that the wooden, and therefore easily flammable parts of the bath, are isolated or removed at a considerable distance from the hot parts of the stove and chimney. For insulation, either a non-combustible material or a material with low thermal conductivity can serve.
It is necessary to monitor the furnace and chimneys and close up cracks in a timely manner. Smoke channels should be regularly cleaned of accumulated soot.
The places of contact of the roof (any type of coating) with the pipe must be protected with a smoke collar made of roofing steel.
Fire safety when heating stoves with firewood and other types of solid fuels.
Compliance with fire safety when heating stoves is extremely important, since almost half of all fires in houses with stove heating occur due to malfunction of stoves and chimneys, as well as their improper operation.
Although wood ignites at a temperature of about 300 degrees, spontaneous combustion is also possible as a result of prolonged contact with objects heated to only 100 degrees. As a result, special attention should be paid to the places where the chimneys pass through the inter-floor and attic rooms.
The main requirement of fire prevention is that all wooden parts of the building should be located at a sufficient distance from the furnace and chimneys or should be well insulated from them, for which brick, asbestos, or felt impregnated with clay solution is used.
To protect the floor from fire from accidentally dropped coals from the furnace, a sheet of roofing iron is laid in front of the furnace doors.
The riser in the attic is coated with a clay solution and, after drying, whitewashed. This is necessary in order to make it easier to detect the defects of the riser on a white background.
Remember that all the norms and rules of fire safety are written by human lives and any violation of these norms will sooner or later play a fatal joke with you.
