The Department of Emergency Situations of the Karatal district recalls the "Rules for the use of gas cylinders in everyday life."
          Natural gases are potential sources of danger to humans.
          The most dangerous are methane (urban trunk gas) and liquefied gas (in cylinders) used in everyday life.
       When leaking, they cause suffocation, poisoning and, worst of all, can lead to an explosion. With the approach of winter, and hence cold weather, in a warm, cozy room, a person goes to rest — and does not wake up, burns out.
       "One of the main problems in terms of safety compliance, experts call the use of gas cylinders above the 2nd floor. Regulatory documents in the field of fire safety prohibit the storage and operation of household gas cylinders in multi-storey residential buildings with more than two floors.
       Basic rules of gas safety in everyday life:
— to carry out filling of cylinders only at specialized points intended for filling household cylinders equipped with a weighing system, control scales ensuring the normative accuracy of weighing, a vessel (cylinder) for draining gas from overfilled cylinders;
— * it is impossible to bring the cylinder from cold to heat, put it near heat sources — there is a sharp expansion, as a result — an explosion; *
— make sure before replacing the cylinder that the taps of the new and used cylinders are closed. After replacement, check the tightness of the connections (by applying a soap solution);
— use a special (not random) flexible rubber hose with a marking, no more than a meter long, fixed with safety clips to connect the cylinder to the gas stove. Do not allow it to stretch or pinch;
— follow the sequence of switching on gas appliances: first light a match, and then open the gas supply;
— do not use an untested balloon;
— to avoid gas leakage, make sure that boiling liquids do not flood the fire during cooking. Clean the burners regularly.
     Do not forget to close the cylinder tap at the end of the work.
     "If there is a smell of gas in the room, turn off the gas supply tap, immediately open windows and doors to ventilate the room, do not use an open fire, do not turn on electricity and electrical appliances, pull the telephone cord out of the socket.
      Be careful! Take care of yourself and your property.
