Safety when handling furnace ash
Dear residents of the Karatal district!
Due to violations of fire safety rules when handling furnace ash, many fires occur, as a result of which, outbuildings and property are destroyed.
Employees of the Department of Emergency Situations of the Karatal district remind:
- ash can remain flammable for more than a day - due to the smallest embers, which are able to warm up already cooled coals to smoldering;
- ash and slag removed from the furnaces must be spilled with water and removed to a safe place;
- for the disposal of wood ash, it is better to use a metal container with legs and a lid;
- place the container with fresh ash away from combustible materials and buildings. In no case do not put a metal bucket with freshly collected ash on the floor – burnout and fire are guaranteed.
Do not expose yourself and your loved ones to danger by pouring ash into cardboard boxes, wooden boxes, on the floor or under the walls of buildings.
