On October 20, 2026, the closing gala concert of the 3rd regional television competition “Zher Zhannaty – Zhetisu” was held at the Biken Rimova Academic Drama Theatre in Taldykorgan.
The competition aims to discover talented performers from the Zhetisu region, promote national arts and cultural heritage, enhance the professional skills of creative groups, and support the development of the cultural sector.
Artists representing districts and cities across the Zhetisu region took part in the competition, showcasing their creative abilities and performance skills.
According to the results of the competition, the performers from Alakol District won the Grand Prix and were awarded a cash certificate. First place was awarded to the performers from Koksu District, who also received a certificate. Second place went to Karatal District, while third place was awarded to Eskeldi District.
This achievement reflects the dedicated work of cultural professionals and the high level of artistic excellence demonstrated by the creative teams of Alakol District.
The victory highlights the district’s cultural potential and the contribution of its artists to preserving and promoting national arts and traditions.

On October 23, a patriotic awareness event entitled “Егемен ел – еңселі ел” was held at the S. Seifullin Central Library in the Zhetysu Region in commemoration of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Republic Day, celebrated on October 25.
The event opened with the National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Following the introduction of the participants and guests, a video entitled “Республика күні – елдігіміздің айғағы” was presented, highlighting key historical milestones in the country’s journey toward independence and the significance of Republic Day.
Welcoming remarks were delivered by Samal Қанатханқызы Шаяхметова, Director of the S. Seifullin Central Library, and Қуаныш Мүсілімұлы Сайлаубай, Chairman of the Zhetysu Regional Branch of the “Жастар рухы” youth wing. They congratulated those present on the national holiday and emphasized the importance of national unity and independence.
During the event, information was provided on the historical significance of Republic Day, its place in the country’s history, and its role in strengthening national statehood. Таңатар Қасымханұлы Бақыт, a serviceman of Military Unit No. 54380 of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, also delivered a congratulatory address.
The musical programme continued with a performance by Төлеутай Дәрібайұлы Серіков, a teacher at the K. Baiseitov Music College. He congratulated the audience and performed the song “Үш бақытым”, highlighting love for one’s homeland and the importance of national values.
Library staff presented a book exhibition entitled “Республика күні – ел тарихындағы ұлы белес”. The exhibition introduced readers to Kazakhstan’s history, the country’s achievements during the years of independence, and the development of national identity.
Students from the D. Рақышев Boarding School recited poems dedicated to love for the Motherland and their native land. Серік Таир, a third-grade student at Secondary School No. 9 named after С. Мұратбеков, performed the song “Атамекен”.
The event was attended by students and class teachers from Secondary Schools No. 4 and No. 22 in Taldykorgan.
At the conclusion of the event, the special significance of Republic Day in the country’s history was reaffirmed. Participants expressed their wishes for Kazakhstan’s peace and prosperity, unity and harmony among its people, and the continued strength of the nation’s independence.

The Museum of local lore named after Mukhamedzhan Tynyshbayuly of Zhetysu region held an educational event dedicated to the day of the Republic "the Republic is the testimony of eldigim". The event was attended by students of schools No. 2, No. 4 and No. 18 in Taldykorgan. During the event, Dilnaz Arkinova, a student of the College of Zhetysu university named after I. Zhansugurov, read the work of Ilyas Akyn "pictures of Zhetysu". In addition, the students were widely told about the history of the Republic Day, the importance and historical significance of this holiday for our country, and were given valuable information about the important stages of Kazakhstan's path to independence.
The winners of the intellectual game, organized in order to expand the knowledge of the younger generation, were awarded special prizes. At the end of the event, the song "Atameken" performed by Bauyrzhan Kushtar, a student of the K. Baiseitov music college, gave a special mood to the audience.

On October 16, a roundtable discussion entitled “The Formation and Historical Role of Turkic Tribes in Zhetysu” was held at the Mukhamedzhan Tynyshbayev Historical and Local History Museum.
The event was attended by historians, history teachers from secondary schools, and students. During the roundtable, participants exchanged views on the historical heritage of Turkic tribes in the Zhetysu region, archaeological and historical-cultural monuments, and the importance of local history studies in shaping national historical consciousness.
In addition, the participants discussed the effective use of historical sources in the educational process, ways to engage younger generations in the history of their native land, and the preservation of historical and cultural heritage.
The museum also organized a guided tour of the exhibition dedicated to the Turkic era. Visitors received detailed information about historical artifacts reflecting the rich heritage of this period.
On October 13, the Central Library named after S. Seifullin in the Zhetysu Region hosted the regional competition “Сайынсалғансырлыәлем”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Sain Muratbekov, an outstanding writer, member of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan, and laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Sain Muratbekov’s works hold a special place in the hearts of readers thanks to their lyrical narrative style and profound, authentic portrayal of the human soul. Such works as “Жусаниісі”, “Жабайыалма” and “Анамныңарманы” have become an important part of Kazakhstan’s literary heritage. The competition was organised in two stages with the aim of promoting the writer’s rich literary legacy and fostering a greater interest in fiction among the younger generation.
The first stage of the competition was dedicated to the work “Анамныңарманы”. Participants were asked to continue a given excerpt from the writer’s story in their own words. They demonstrated their skills in expressive reading, intonation, stage presence and the ability to convey the meaning and emotional depth of the literary work.
The second stage, entitled “ОқырманныңжүрекқылындәлбасқанСайын…”, focused on the novellas “Жабайыалма” and “Жусаниісі”. Participants answered questions about these works, demonstrating their in-depth understanding of the writer’s literary legacy, their literary knowledge and broad outlook.
The participants’ performances and knowledge were assessed by a qualified jury comprising representatives of the literary and cultural sectors, led by Maira Muratbekkyzy, the writer’s sister. The jury members impartially evaluated the contestants’ performances and selected the best participants.
According to the results of the competition, Aizere Kurmangazy from Panfilov District took first place, Sanzhar Nurlanuly from Aksu District secured second place, and Aisultan Otarbay from Koksu District won third place. The participants who achieved outstanding results were recognised as winners and prize-winners and received awards in recognition of their achievements.
The regional competition “Сайынсалғансырлыәлем” proved to be a meaningful literary event aimed at introducing the younger generation to the rich heritage of Kazakh literature, highlighting the power of the written word, and promoting national spiritual values through the works of this outstanding writer.

On October 8, the S. Seifullin Central Library hosted a personality recognition hour entitled “A Mother of the Nation Honoured for Her Dedicated Work”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Zylikha Zhanbolatovna Tamshybayeva, a public figure, accomplished leader in agricultural production, Hero of Socialist Labour, and recipient of the Parasat and Kurmet Orders.
The main objective of the event was to widely promote the exemplary life and career of Zylikha Tamshybayeva, who holds a special place in the history of the country, and to inspire the younger generation by her civic commitment, dedication to serving her country, diligence, professional competence, and strong moral values. Particular attention was also paid to such values as honest work, service to the Motherland, responsibility, patriotism, love for one’s native land, and continuity between generations, as reflected through the life and work of this remarkable personality.
During the event, library readers watched a video entitled “A Life of Example – A Legacy for Future Generations”, dedicated to the life and professional career of Zylikha Zhanbolatovna. The video highlighted her dedicated work for the benefit of the country, her contribution to the development of agriculture, and the valuable example she left for future generations.
A review of the book exhibition “Work for the Benefit of the Nation”organized using materials from the library’s collection, was also presented. The exhibition featured materials on the life and activities of Zylikha Tamshybayeva, historical and educational publications, photographs, and literature dedicated to this prominent figure.
Special guests – Aigerim Bekenkyzy, Head of a Department at the M. Tynyshpayev Museum, and Diana Eltaykyzy, a librarian at the Zylikha Tamshybai Rural Library in Koksu District – shared their thoughts on the life journey, civic values, and public service of a person who made a significant contribution to the development of the country.
The meaningful meeting, aimed at fostering diligence, patriotism, respect for one’s native land, and a commitment to serving the public good among the younger generation, continued with the “Historical Detective” question-and-answer session. Readers answered various questions related to the life and professional career of Zylikha Zhanbolatovna, demonstrating their knowledge and interest in the history of their native region.
The participants explored important stages of Zylikha Tamshybayeva’s professional career, her contribution to the development of the country, her awards, and her public activities. Drawing on historical facts, they gained a deeper understanding of her multifaceted contributions and public service.
Every stage of this remarkable woman’s life serves as an inspiring example and a valuable moral lesson for future generations. Her dedication to work, service to her country, and love for her native land continue to serve as a worthy example for young people.
On October 7, 2026, the Central Library of Zhetysu region named after Saken Seifullin held a regional competition the best young librarian-2026 in order to increase the prestige of the profession and develop professional competencies and skills among young librarians.
The competition consisted of 3 stages:
Stage 1: presentation of projects implemented by the participants over the past 1-3 years;
Stage 2: 20 test questions;
Stage 3: providing the reader with a modern model of Service.
The competition was attended by 7 librarians from 5 districts and 2 cities,
as a young specialist, a diploma of the first degree of the regional competition the best young librarian-2026 was awarded to the Librarian of the Koksu District Library Nurmukhambetova Ayim, a diploma of the II degree was awarded to The Librarian of the Eskeldy District Library Bekmyrza Meruert, a diploma of the III degree was awarded to The Librarian of the Kerbulak District Library Yerzhigitova Kuralai. All applicants who took part in the competition were awarded letters of thanks.
