Alakol regional newspaper
To date, the district operates and provides services to one district newspaper, through which residents are informed about state policy.
The newspaper "Alakol" is a part of the media holding "ZHETISU Akparat" formed on the basis of the decree of the Governor of the region.
The circulation of this newspaper is 5 000 pieces, the staff unit is 6 people.
The newspaper publishes articles about people who have made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the district, including people who provide charitable assistance, widely reported on the progress of industrial and innovative projects, there are articles aimed at ensuring stability, harmony, concretization of inter-religious and ethnic relations in the district.
The implementation of the state order for information policy is carried out by the 1st district newspaper "Alakol". In 2010, the newspaper "Alakol" was allocated 3 million 90 thousand tenge for conducting information policy through the media. 2011-4 million 43 thousand tenge, 2012-4 million 572 thousand tenge.
Currently, the newspaper "Alakol" operates in two languages – - (Kazakh, Russian). The circulation is 5000 copies . It is necessary to improve the state information policy as part of the formation of social optimism in Kazakhstan.

Among the current problems of the industry, the following stand out:
1) lack of journalistic and technical personnel in the media;
2) low coverage of information work of the population of some rural localities from district centers due to their remoteness (sometimes up to 200 km).
