Key indicators of the UAPF as of January 1, 2021
As of January 1, 2021, pension savings in the amount of KZT 12.9 trln were formed on the accounts of the contributors of the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund. For a year, i.e. from 01.01.2020 to 01.01.2021, the amount increased by KZT 2.1 trln or 20%.
The main amount of pension savings was formed at the expense of compulsory pension contributions (CPC) and amounted to KZT12.6 trln (an increase since the beginning of 2020 was 19%). The amount of pension savings on compulsory occupational pension contributions (COPC) amounted to KZT 315.3 bln (an increase of 28%), the amount of pension savings on voluntary pension contributions (VPC) amounted to KZT 2.2 bln (an increase of 12%).
It is important to note that from January 1, 2020 to January 1, 2021, more than KZT 1.2 trln of net investment income was credited to the accounts of the UAPF contributors, which is KZT 578.1 bln (an increase of 90%) more than in the same period of the 2019. At the same time, it should be emphasized that the investment income exceeded the amount of pension contributions.
Since the beginning of 2020, pension contributions in the total amount of KZT 1.1 trln have been received on contributors' accounts, which exceeded the figure for 2019 by KZT 94.8 bln or 10%. Of the total amount of contributions, 95.6% are receipts to the UAPF for CPC – KZT 1.04 trln (an increase of 10%), KZT 46.9 bln (an increase of 8%) were received on COPC, KZT539 mln (an increase of 51%) was listed for VPC.
The number of individual pension accounts in the UAPF as of January 1, 2021 amounted to 11.6 million units (an increase since the beginning of the year was 10%). The largest number of accounts was opened for compulsory pension contributions (CPC) - 10,981,218 (11% growth). Then there are accounts formed at the expense of COPC - 528,283 (an increase of 4%), the number of accounts at the expense of VPC in the UAPF is now 57,645 (an increase of 6%).
Pension benefits amounted to KZT 193.4 bln, most of which, namely 35%, accounted for benefits by age (KZT 67.7 bln), transfers to insurance organizations (KZT 46.3 bln), for leaving for permanent residence outside the Republic of Kazakhstan (KZT 36,8 bln), to heirs (KZT36.5 bln), for burial (KZT4.4 bln), disability payments (KZT 1.7 bln).
