The main causes of fires in residential buildings during the heating season are faulty heating systems and structural deficiencies, placing heating devices too close to flammable objects.
Every year, with the beginning of the heating season, the number of domestic fires in residential buildings and apartments increases, the causes of which are most often gross violations of fire safety rules during the operation of heating systems and installations, furnace heating, overloading the power grid, as well as ordinary carelessness. That is why it is so important to remind you once again that such a disaster as a fire can still be prevented by taking care in advance of meeting, in General, simple requirements.
In this regard, employees of the Ochs of the Alakol district ask citizens to comply with the rules and requirements of fire safety during the heating period and not to be careless about their own safety.
By following the following recommendations, you can ensure the safety of your home during the heating season:
- installation of new heating equipment must be carried out by qualified specialists;
- when using heating devices, it is forbidden to use electrical wiring with damaged insulation.
- do not install electric heaters near objects that can be burned.
- do not forget to turn off all electric heating devices when leaving the house.
- do not forget to clean the chimneys from soot before the start of the heating season and every three months during the entire heating season.
- do not use stoves that have cracks, faulty doors, insufficient cutting from chimneys to wooden structures of walls and floor partitions.
- make sure that the pre-furnace sheet (at least 70x50 cm in size) is nailed near the furnace.
- do not leave unattended burning stoves, lit kerosene burners, kerosene lamps, Primus lamps, electric heating and gas appliances.
- do not allow multiple powerful electric consumers (electric stove, electric fireplace, kettle, etc.) to be connected to the power grid at the same time, causing an overload of the power grid.
- the use of non-standard homemade heating devices is a serious danger.
- monitor the health of all electrical appliances.
- do not leave gas appliances running unattended. you can't dry clothes over a gas stove.
- do not: if there is a smell of gas in the apartment, turn on electric lighting, light matches, smoke, use an open fire. In this case, you must immediately call the gas emergency service and thoroughly ventilate the premises before they arrive.
- do not leave children at home alone when the gas stove is on, the fireplace is on, the stove is on, or electrical appliances are on.
- if there is a fire or smoke, contact the fire Department immediately and provide the exact address.
It is worth considering the location of furniture in the house: beds, curtains and other combustible items should be at a distance of at least one to one and a half meters from the walls of the furnace. It is not wise to place fuel, other combustible substances and materials on the pre – fire sheet-this can also cause a fire from proximity to the fire.
In case of fire, call 101 or 112.
REMEMBER! That it's easier to prevent a fire than to put it out! Unconditional implementation of fire prevention measures will eliminate the risk of fire in your home
