Nodular dermatitis in cattle (skin rash, skin rash, nodular exanthema), "skin edema" in the buffalo - fever, swelling of the subcutaneous connective tissue and organs, skin nodules, eye damage, mucous membranes of the respiratory and digestive tract Infectious diseases of cattle accompanied by skin.
Economic damage. Mortality from nodular dermatitis in cattle does not exceed 10%. In addition, the economic damage is significant, as milk and meat production, the quality of raw hides and skins decreases, the sexual cycle of cows is disrupted, and bulls develop temporary sexual sterility.
Etiology. Nodular dermatitis in cattle is caused by DNA viruses divided into 3 groups for laboratory animals and cattle: BLD (Orphan-orphan virus), Allerton (Allerton) and Nietling (Neethling). Nitling group viruses are the main causative agents of nodular dermatitis in cattle, closely related to goat's foot virus.
Epizootological data. Under natural conditions, nodular dermatitis is most susceptible to cattle, especially cultivated breeds, as well as zebu. The source of the virus are sick animals and virus carriers - animals that remain in the latent phase of the disease and after the disease. When the first disease occurs in the herd, it affects from 5 to 50%, in some cases up to 75-100%, especially among European breeds. Typical symptoms of the disease can be observed in 50% of infected animals. The disease is often progressive and chronic, affecting both sexes of all ages and breeds. Nodular dermatitis is transmitted to animals mainly through transmissible blood-sucking insects, mosquitoes, mosquitoes and flies. This is evidenced by the presence of the virus in the blood after 22 days after the appearance of symptoms and seasonal nature of the disease in animals. The largest number of infected animals is registered in places where there are many blood-sucking insects. The virus can be transmitted by birds, especially scorpions.
The virus can enter the environment through infected skin and infected milk, semen, saliva and blood. With sperm, it continues to divide for 2 months after clinical recovery.
In dense skin nodes, it can be detected within 4 months from the moment of their appearance. Where the disease is permanently registered, it manifests itself only in the form of enzootic and sporadic conditions. There is no visible pattern in the spread of the disease. Thus, sometimes a healthy animal near a sick person does not get sick and gets sick in herds of tens and hundreds of miles away.
The pathogenesis is similar to the pathogenesis of smallpox, but there is no obvious stage of skin damage. In the case of subcutaneous infection of cattle, after 4-7 days at the site of administration of the material containing the virus appear pathogenic bumps, which cause an inflammatory reaction up to 20 cm in diameter. The incubation period is from 3 to 30 days, more than 7-10 days. The prodromal period is short. In the early stages of the disease, after a rise in body temperature to 40 ° C, the animal develops a decrease in appetite, tearing, serous-mucous secretions from the nose. After 48 hours, on the skin of the neck, chest, abdomen, ears, limbs, head, ulcers appear dense round or dense surface, several elongated nodules with a diameter of 0.5-7 cm and a height of 0.5 cm. They are easy to feel, and they are visible in areas covered with short, smooth, hairless or weak fur. Sometimes nodes are added.
After a few hours, after the appearance of nodules, the epidermis begins to divide, and in the middle there is a characteristic ulcer and tissue necrosis. Necrotic areas are covered with a roller 1-3 mm wide, consisting of granulated fabric. 7-20 days after the appearance of the nodule, the necrotized area is sequestrated and can be removed or dried and removed. If the process is not complicated, the resulting cavity is filled with granular tissue and grows with odorless skin and wool. If the process is complicated, sores appear. Nodules often appear in lactating cows. The milk is pink, thick, dripping, and the gel solidifies when heated. Lymph nodes are enlarged and easy to palpate, especially in the shoulder. Severe prolonged fever, loss of appetite, dehydration of the animal are observed. The nodules leave the whole body, we note severe damage to the respiratory system and gastrointestinal tract. Smooth round erosions and gray-yellow necrotic vesicles appear in the mucous membrane. In the future, they note that the wound is purulent. Erosions and ulcers appear on the eyelids, the horns become cloudy, there is partial or complete blindness. Thick saliva comes out of the mouth, purulent mucus with a musty smell from the nose. If the damage to the respiratory tract is accompanied by obvious swelling, the animal often dies from suffocation. A typical form of nodular nodular dermatitis is observed in newborn calves and is characterized by diarrhea, fever, in the absence of obvious signs of skin damage. Inanparent form is asymptomatic, but vir
On September 23 of this year, cases of infection of domestic birds with avian flu were detected in the village of Karatas in the Zhualy district. Galinski regional Inspectorate in Orenburgskom rural district quarantined. A barrier and a disinfection barrier were placed at the entrance to the village of Karatas.
As part of the quarantine regime, an action plan was prepared to eliminate the foci of the disease and prevent further infection. The algorithm of interaction of all interested services and departments is organized.
According to the latest data, 410 domestic birds died from the disease. The carcasses of the birds were burned in a special concrete chamber. According to the current requirements, disinfection of this place was carried out. The farmsteads on the territory of 2400 square meters around the hearth were disinfected twice. In parallel, vaccination of domestic birds along the migration path of wild birds is carried out.
A commission was established to pay compensation to the owner of the birds. The compensation will be paid at the expense of the republican budget.
160 thousand doses of vaccines were allocated from the republican reserve in the region, 64.6 thousand doses were provided to the Zhualy district. Also, vaccines against avian influenza were transferred to Moyinkum, Baizak, Zhambyl and Kordai districts, where reservoirs and poultry farms are located. At the moment, work is actively underway to vaccinate birds.
In the region, there are a total of 1,030,560 heads of birds in private farmsteads. From the national reserve for vaccination against avian influenza has been requested further 970 560 doses. According to the results of monitoring, no other cases of bird deaths were registered.
