1) organization of public health protection from diseases common to animals and humans, together with the authorized state body in the field of health and implementation of mutual exchange of information;
2) implementation of the state policy in the field of veterinary medicine;
3) organization of construction, reconstruction of animal burial grounds (biothermal pits) and provision of their maintenance;
4) organizing and ensuring the provision of information to interested parties about the ongoing veterinary activities;
5) organization of state commissions for the commissioning of production facilities that raise animals, harvest (slaughter), store, process and sell animals, products and raw materials of animal origin, as well as organizations for the production, storage and sale of veterinary drugs, feed and feed additives;
6) approval of the plan of veterinary measures to ensure veterinary and sanitary safety in the territory of the relevant administrative-territorial unit in coordination with the authorized body;
7) organization of storage, transportation (delivery) of veterinary drugs for the prevention of particularly dangerous animal diseases, with the exception of the republican stock of veterinary drugs;
8) summary, analysis of veterinary records and reports and their submission to the authorized body;
9) implementation of state procurement of veterinary drugs for the prevention and diagnosis of enzootic animal diseases, services for their prevention and diagnosis, organization of storage and transportation (delivery) of veterinary drugs, carrying out veterinary measures for the prevention and diagnosis of enzootic animal diseases;
10) ensuring the implementation of veterinary measures for the prevention, sampling of biological material and their delivery for the diagnosis of particularly dangerous animal diseases according to the list approved by the authorized body, as well as enzootic and other animal diseases;
11) organization and implementation of educational work among the population on veterinary issues;
12) participation in state commissions for the commissioning of production facilities that raise animals, harvest (slaughter), store, process and sell animals, products and raw materials of animal origin, as well as organizations for the production, storage and sale of veterinary drugs, feed and feed additives;
13) approval of the list of enzootic animal diseases, the prevention and diagnosis of which are carried out at the expense of budget funds;
14) organization of collection and compilation of data (information) on animal burial grounds (biothermal pits) for inclusion in the register of animal burial grounds (biothermal pits);
15) exercise in the interests of local state administration of other powers assigned to local executive bodies by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
