Based on the decisions of the Kordai District Maslikhat No. 35-3 dated January 16, 2023, and in accordance with paragraph 4) of Article 20 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan", the Kordai District Election Commission announces the convening of the first meetings of the district election commissions for the election of deputies of the Kordai district Maslikhat on January 17-18, 2023.

On December 1, 2022, a meeting of the Regional Election Commission was held, at which it was considered the progress of the implementation of the Calendar Plan of the main activities for the preparation and conduct of the elections of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for January 14, 2023 by the approved Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Opening the meeting, Chairman of the Regional Election Commission S. Aidapkelov noted that due to the end of the constitutional term of office of the Senate deputies elected in 2017 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 26, 2022, the next elections of the Senate deputies were scheduled for January 14, 2023. In this case, elections of deputies are appointed at least four months before the end of the constitutional term of office of deputies of the Senate and are held at least two months before the end of the constitutional term of their powers.
Thus, on January 14, 2023, one deputy of the upper house of the supreme legislative body of the country will be elected in the region.
According to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Senate is formed by deputies representing, in accordance with the procedure established by the Constitutional Law, two people from each region, city of republican significance and the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Deputies of the Senate are elected on the basis of indirect suffrage by secret ballot by electors – deputies of maslikhats, who, in turn, are elected by citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan in general elections.
The term of office of the deputies of the Senate is six years. At the same time, half are re-elected every three years.
The organization and conduct of elections of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament is managed by the Central Election Commission. The relevant territorial election commissions ensure the preparation and conduct of parliamentary elections in the regions.
The Secretary of the regional Election Commission A. Boranbayev made a report on the preparation and conduct of the elections of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for January 14, 2023.
Thus, the nomination of candidates for deputies of the Senate of the Parliament began on the day following the election day, i.e. from November 29 and ends at 18 o'clock local time a month before the election day, December 14, 2022.
Nomination of candidates for deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan is carried out by maslikhats, as well as in the order of self-nomination.
A person who has reached the age of thirty, has a higher education and work experience of at least five years, has been permanently residing in the territory of the relevant region, a city of republican significance or the capital for at least three years can be a deputy of the Senate.
Citizens recognized by the court as incompetent do not have the right to elect and be elected.
A person who has a criminal record that has not been extinguished or removed in accordance with the procedure established by law, as well as a person whose guilt in committing a corruption crime and a corruption offense has been recognized by a court in accordance with the procedure established by law, cannot be a candidate for the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A candidate for deputy of the Senate must be supported by at least ten percent of the votes of the total number of electors representing all maslikhats of the region, maslikhat of a city of republican significance or the capital of the Republic, but not more than twenty-five percent of the votes of electors from one maslikhat.
Registration of candidates for deputies of the Senate begins after receiving all the necessary documents and ends at 18 o'clock local time twenty days before election day, that is, at 18:00 on December 24, 2022.
Registration of candidates for deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan is carried out by regional, cities of republican significance and the capital election commissions in the presence of a decision of the regional, city or district maslikhat on the nomination of a candidate for deputies (in case of nomination by the maslikhat); statements of consent to run as a candidate for deputies; protocol of the relevant election commission on the results of verification of signatures of electors in support of the candidate; biographical data of the candidate; certificates of the state revenue authority on the submission by the candidate and his (her) spouse of declarations of assets and liabilities; a document certifying the candidate's election contribution in the amount of 900,000 tenge.
Election campaigning begins from the end of the registration period of candidates, i.e. after 18 hours on December 24, 2022 and ends at zero hours local time of the day preceding the voting day, i.e. at 00.00 hours on January 13.
The results of the counting of votes in the election of a deputy of the Senate are established at a meeting of the relevant election commission held at the polling station.
The protocol of counting votes for the election of a deputy of the Senate is announced by the Chairman of the Regional Election Commission at a joint meeting of electors .
Following the meeting, relevant decisions were made on the preparation and conduct of the elections of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for January 14, 2023.
