Investment income since the beginning of the year exceeded the amount of contributions received
As of December 1, 2021, pension savings in the amount of 13.4 trillion tenge were formed on the accounts of depositors of the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund. For the year, from 01.12.2020 to 01.12.2021, the amount increased by 648.8 billion tenge or 5%, and from January 2021 by 455 billion tenge or 4%.
The main amount of pension savings was formed at the expense of mandatory pension contributions (OPV) and amounted to 13.0 trillion tenge (an increase of 5% over the past 12 months). The amount of pension savings on mandatory professional pension contributions (OPP) amounted to 361.8 billion tenge (there was an increase of 17%), the amount of pension savings on voluntary pension contributions (DPV) amounted to about 1.7 billion tenge.
In 11 months of 2021, the UAPF depositors contributed more funds than in the same period last year. As of December 1, 2021, pension contributions totaling about 1.2 trillion tenge were received into depositors' accounts, which exceeded the indicator for the same period in 2020 (by 227.9 billion tenge or 24%). Of the total contributions, 95.7% are receipts to the UAPF for OPV - 1.1 trillion tenge (an increase of 24% over the past 12 months), 50.4 billion tenge (an increase of 17%) were received for OPV, 660 million tenge (an increase of 38%) was transferred for DPV.
In addition to the contributions of depositors themselves, a significant increase in pension savings was provided due to net investment income, which from January 1 to December 1, 2021 exceeded 1.3 trillion tenge, which exceeds the figures of last year by almost 210 billion tenge or 19%. The yield on pension assets of the UAPF under the management of the National Bank of Kazakhstan since the beginning of 2021 amounted to 11.0%, with inflation of 7.8%. At the same time, the yield for the last 12 calendar months was 11.77%, with inflation for the same period at 8.7%.
The number of individual pension accounts in the UAPF as of December 1, 2021 amounted to 11.7 million units. The largest number of accounts have been opened for mandatory pension contributions (OPV) – 10,868,712 units. Next are the accounts formed at the expense of the OPPV, 542,397 units, the number of accounts at the expense of the DPV in the UAPF is now 59,217 units.
Since the beginning of the year, the UAPF has paid 2.4 trillion tenge to depositors, most of them were one-time pension payments (EPO) for the purpose of improving housing conditions and treatment - 2.1 trillion tenge. Payments by age - 89.2 billion tenge. Transfers to insurance organizations amounted to about 54.1 billion tenge, inheritance payments - 52.5 billion tenge, payments in connection with permanent residence outside the Republic of Kazakhstan - 37.5 billion tenge, funeral payments - 5.0 billion tenge and disability payments - 2.0 billion tenge.
It is worth noting that the amount of the average monthly payment according to the schedule from the UAPF (due to reaching retirement age) It amounted to 28,431 tenge, and the maximum amount of monthly payment was 673,643 tenge.
UAPF was established on August 22, 2013 on the basis of JSC "NPF "GNPF". The founder and shareholder of the UAPF is the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan represented by the State Property and Privatization Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The trust management of pension assets of the UAPF is carried out by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since January 1, 2016, the functions of developing proposals to improve the efficiency of pension assets management have been transferred to the National Fund Management Council. In accordance with the pension legislation, the UAPF attracts mandatory pension contributions, mandatory occupational pension contributions, voluntary pension contributions, pension payments, individual accounting of pension savings and payments, provides the depositor (recipient) with information on the status of his pension savings (more on www.enpf.kz )
