Zhandos Nurzhanovich Salimov was born on 17 July 1980 in the village of Kaztalovka, Kaztalov District, West Kazakhstan Region.
He began his career in 2000 as a construction foreman at the private enterprise Ryskaliyeva R in Uralsk.
2002–2004 – Construction Foreman at the Zhandanu Production Cooperative (Uralsk).
2004 – Technical Supervision Engineer at the Uralsk City Department of Education, then Chief Specialist at the Uralsk City Department of Architecture and Construction.
2007–2008 – Deputy Head of the Uralsk City Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, then Head of the Construction Department of Terekty District, West Kazakhstan Region.
2009–2011 – Chief Specialist of the Subsoil Use and Licensing Division, then Head of the Gasification Division of the Department of Energy and Public Utilities of West Kazakhstan Region.
