On October 15, 2026, a residents' meeting was held at the building of the State Institution "Office of the Akim of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Rural District," where the topic "Prevention of online fraud and other unlawful acts committed using information technologies, within the framework of the preventive campaign 'Safe Home'" was discussed.
The rapid development of information technologies has significantly simplified citizens' everyday lives. Today, most government services, banking operations, purchases, and payments are carried out electronically. At the same time, the number of crimes committed using the Internet is growing. That is why ensuring digital security is one of the important directions in strengthening the principle of "Law and Order."
According to the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the rights and legitimate interests of citizens are under state protection. Law enforcement agencies constantly carry out work to prevent and solve crimes committed using information technologies. However, security largely also depends on the attentiveness of citizens themselves.
Fraudsters use various methods of deception. They pose as employees of banks, government agencies, or law enforcement services, persuading citizens to disclose bank card details, SMS confirmation codes, or personal data. Fake online stores and social media pages are often created, offering goods at reduced prices with a requirement of full prepayment.
To avoid becoming a victim of fraudsters, it is necessary to follow basic rules of digital security. Never disclose bank card numbers, CVV codes, SMS confirmation codes, or mobile banking passwords to third parties. Do not click on suspicious links, do not enter personal data on unknown websites, and do not install programs from unverified sources. It is recommended to make purchases only through official and reliable online platforms.
Upon receiving a suspicious call or message, you must immediately end the conversation and independently verify the information through the official channels of the relevant organization. If there are signs of fraud, you should immediately contact law enforcement agencies.
The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Prevention of Offenses" pays special attention to the prevention of unlawful acts. Prevention of online fraud is an integral part of this work. Increasing the legal literacy of the population, developing digital culture, and informing citizens about modern fraud schemes help reduce the number of such crimes.
Compliance with the principles of law and order begins with the personal responsibility of each individual. By being vigilant and following the rules of digital security, citizens protect their personal data and property and contribute to strengthening public safety.
