The main branch of the village's economy is the industrial enterprise GRK Ognevsky GOK LLP, which began its activities in the district in 2017. The direction of the enterprise is metallurgical.
Over the past years, geological exploration has been carried out at the Maralushinsky tailings storage facility and reserves have been calculated. The processing of metallurgical production was carried out. Along with this, the buildings of the Depot of Belogorsky GOK Corporation LLP were restored, the roofs of the depot buildings, the railway weighing room, the office of the attendant and the commodity cashier of the Tausamaly station were repaired, access railway tracks were restored in the Loading and Unloading Shop, and a diesel locomotive was launched. The finished products were shipped by rail to the CIS countries.
Along with this, work was carried out on the shipment of coal to the population from the coal overpass of the village of Ognevka, which allowed solving social issues of providing coal to residents of Ognevsky, Asubulak, Targyn rural districts and nearby settlements of the Samara region.
At the same time, the issues of maintaining highways in the district were being resolved. So in winter, regular snow removal was carried out, in summer, tangible assistance was provided in repairing roads in the village.
During the sanitary cleaning of the village, special equipment was allocated for garbage collection.
In 2023, 2 public hearings were held on 2 projects on the following topics:
- "Possible impact on the mining plan for the extraction of technogenic mineral formations of the Maralushinsky tailings dam" in the Ulan district of East Kazakhstan region.
- "Possible impact on the mining plan for the underground completion of the reserves of the Bakenny rare metal deposit in the Ulan district of East Kazakhstan region, initiated by the GRK Ognevsky GOK.
Since 2021, the company has been operating in a security mode.
In 2023, the company was put up for auction. Investors from China, Italy, Germany, and Russia have shown interest in buying a processing plant and a mine. However, as of 01.01.2024, the issue remains open.
The development of the village of Ognevka depends entirely on the work of the main industrial production of the district.
С запуском основного производства будет создано 300 новых рабочих мест, увеличится приток населения в район, увеличится объем налоговых поступлений и, несомненно, будут решены социальные проблемы села.
