The total area of lands assigned to the Samar region is 547,600 hectares, including: agricultural lands - 265,359.9 hectares, settlement lands - 42,583 hectares, industrial lands - 1,930.7 hectares, forest reserve lands - 72,874 hectares. There are 8 rural districts in the region, namely Samar, Sarybel, Mirolyubovka, Palatsy, Kulinjon, Marinogorka, Bastauchy, Akkala. The main occupation of the villagers is cattle breeding and agriculture. The area of land assigned to agriculture in the region is 161,967 hectares, including: pasture land - 83,462.8 hectares, grassland - 13,048 hectares, cropland - 65,430 hectares.
