Bastauchy Rural District: Anti-Corruption Culture as a Guarantee of a Bright Future
Today, corruption remains one of the greatest threats hindering the development of our society. Combating it is not solely the duty of state bodies, but the shared responsibility of every citizen, including rural residents. In this regard, systematic work is being carried out in the Bastauchy rural district, with a primary focus on ensuring the rule of law.
Corruption is a disease that not only halts societal development but also generates social injustice. As noted by our President, establishing an atmosphere of zero tolerance for corruption is a key requirement on the path to building a "Just Kazakhstan."
In this context, a meaningful roundtable discussion titled "Corruption as a Disease of Society" was recently held in the Bastauchy rural district, attended by local entrepreneurs and residents. During the meeting, participants widely discussed issues of conducting fair business, strictly adhering to legal requirements, preventing everyday corruption, and ensuring transparency for the common good, while also sharing their proposals and opinions.
On October 2, a round table titled "Woman and Man — Equal Opportunities in Society" was organized at the Bastauy rural clubhouse with the aim of promoting equal opportunities for women and men in society, explaining the principles of gender equality, and supporting the active participation of citizens in public life.
During the event, discussions widely covered the roles of women and men in society, their rights and responsibilities, mutual respect in the family and society, mutual support, and the provision of equal opportunities.
Participants shared their thoughts and exchanged views on the contribution of women and men to the development of society. In addition, it was noted that it is important to provide every person, regardless of gender, with equal opportunities for education, work, the development of their abilities, and active participation in public life.
At the end of the round table, participants exchanged views and emphasized that fostering peace, harmony, and equality in society is a shared responsibility of every citizen.
On October 1st, in honor of the Day of Older Persons, a festive dastarkhan (feast) titled «Қарты бар үйдің қазынасы бар» ("A home with an elder is a home with a treasure") was organized in the Bastaushi rural district. This meaningful event was held on the initiative of the rural district administration and cultural workers.
Respected elders and grandmothers of our district were specially invited to the festive gathering, where they were shown special care and respect. From time immemorial, the Kazakh people have given elders the seat of honor, listened to their advice, and received their blessings. The wise saying, "A country with elders has a treasure," also highlights the profound respect due to the older generation.
During the event, a generous spread was offered to the guests, and sincere wishes were expressed to the grandfathers and grandmothers.
The elders shared their blessings (* бата *), imparted wise stories to the younger generation, and shared their life experiences. Warm conversations, heartfelt wishes, and kind words around the dastarkhan further revealed the true essence of the holiday.
Our elderly citizens are the well-being of the country, the pillar of the family, and a priceless treasure guiding the younger generation. Showing respect to them is the duty of each and every one of us.

An explanatory event themed «Petty Corruption: How to Eradicate It?» was held at the Bastau rural club with the participation of local residents, organized by librarian Zh. Maulkhanova.
During the meeting, residents were provided with a detailed explanation of the types of everyday petty corruption encountered in daily life, as well as the legal actions and alternative solutions citizens should follow if they encounter situations involving bribery or the demand for bribes.
The gathering highlighted the importance of avoiding any unlawful actions and emphasized the proper procedures for obtaining public services strictly within the framework of the law. Additionally, residents were reminded that should they face such negative situations, they should take immediate action and call the 1424 unified hotline.
