In the field of physical culture and sports

The population of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk is 374690 people, of whom they are engaged in physical education and sports 161,491 people, which is 43.1%.

There are 403 sports facilities in the city.

The goal that we set for ourselves is to cover sports facilities, ensuring equal access for physical education and sports. In order to fulfill this task, the department held 132 sports events in 2024.

This year, such major competitions as "Oskemen Cross Fest-2024" were held; an open judo tournament among young men born in 2007-2009 for the prizes of the honored coach A.Zh. Ataev, the Altyn Altai Republican competition in the BMX Classic, the Akim's Cup in Boxing among 2011-2014, the Ust–Kamenogorsk Basketball Championship among secondary school students, the Altai Zhuldyzdary Rhythmic Gymnastics city Championship, the Medal for Mom figure skating city tournament, freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, Oskemen Tatryl Fest-2024, a friendly meeting on the national sport of zhekpe-zhek "Uly dala batyrlary" among the athletes of Ozbekistan, Tajikistan, America, Barazilia, Astana and Ust-Kamenogorsk, football among amateurs for the Akim's cup, the II open town tournament in memory of Saparbayev B.M. in football among athletes 2009-2011, the Open Greco-Roman wrestling tournament in memory of J. Ushkempirova, Night RACE, open team tournament.

As part of the promotion of physical culture and sports, a healthy lifestyle and stimulating youth to sports, the department organized a meeting with the silver medalist of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Demeu Zhadraev on 07.09.2024 with students of the Amanzholov Moscow State University.

In the field of tourism

There are 57 registered accommodation facilities in Ust-Kamenogorsk, including 30 hotels and 8 hostels. Also, 12 hotels are equipped with restaurants, 18 hotels do not have restaurants. The total number of rooms is 1,083, with a one-time capacity of 2,156 beds.

For 2024, 4 thematic events were held aimed at developing the tourist potential of the city: a bike tour along Alfarabi Street and Satpayev Ave. with traditional archery "Altyn Zhebe", a fishing festival "Summer Catch – 2024", a festival of artisans "Souvenir of the East" for the City Day, as well as a "One-day hiking trip with students".

There are prospects for the development of gastronomic, sports, and industrial tourism.

The city of Ust-Kamenogorsk provides tourist services to more than 80 entities, including 12 travel agencies and 70 tour operators.

The city's tour operators have developed a register of 30 tourist routes, including educational, sports and tourism, environmental, sightseeing, automobile and equestrian tours. Including historical ones:

- Guided tours of the historical part of Ust-Kamenogorsk (organized by the regional Architectural, Ethnographic and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve)

- "Old Ust-Kamenogorsk" - evening tour (organized by the Travel Agency "Voyage-Altai Kazakhstan" LLP, guides)

- "Historical tour of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk from 1720 to 1917", "Familiar strangers from 1918 to 1958", "Drinking history. Tea, kvass, beer, koumiss and other beverages in pre-revolutionary Ust-Kamenogorsk" (organized by TOPOLNYAK Premier Tour LLP).
