The Civil Alliance of the Mangystau region is implementing the project "Organization of a set of measures aimed at the development of local self-government" with the support of the Center for Support of Civil Initiatives and the Ministry of Information and Public Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The aim of the project is to involve and stimulate citizens, public organizations, local authorities and local community meetings in the development of local self-government. The project is being implemented in 8 regions of Kazakhstan (Atyrau, Aktobe, Zhambyl, East Kazakhstan, Akmola, Pavlodar, Karaganda and Kostanay regions).
Within the framework of this project, in 8 target regions, members of local communities and other active citizens improved their knowledge and skills on mechanisms for involving citizens in the decision-making process, on managing local budgets, social design, initiative budgeting, and discussed possible directions for implementing small projects and received advice on the development of social projects.
Also, within the framework of this project, a small grants competition was held, according to the results of which 20 winners were determined, who have now started implementing social projects.
On August 05, 2021, an expert meeting was held within the framework of a round table through the Zoom platform with the participation of a representative of the NAO "CPGI", a representative of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan,akims of rural districts of target regions, experts and project coordinators.During this event, issues of the development of LSG in the regions were discussed: a new concept for the development of LSG until 2025, interim results of the project, the development of inclusive rural development plans, as well as lessons learned.
